There is no way Fox is going to throw over $100 million dollars at a found footage movie starring the Fantastic Four. I think found footage is alienating and they need this to be a giant hit for them.

I particularly do not have high hopes for this as there has been 2 disappointing movies already. I would have more confidence in this if it was in Marvel's hands.

Q: How do you feel being the new Invisible Woman? It's a big responsibility.

A: I don't feel more responsibility with this role that I've felt with others. I understand that there are many fans of Fantastic Four and I guess they expect a lot from me, but I prefer not to be pressured by that. We are also trying to create a new way of seeing these superheroes, I'm focusing on making her (Susan Storm) as real as possible.

Q: Do you like comics?

A: I've never been a fan of comics, I've never actually read one. I was going to for this movie but the director said it wasn't necessary. Well, actually he told us that we shouldn't do it because the plot won't be based on any history of anything already published. So I chose to follow his instructions. The one fact is I am a fan of comic book movies, so it's very exciting to be part of a movie like this.

Q: What did you think when the audition for this movie? Were you nervous?

A: I was excited, but I only focused on doing the best I could. I think there are roles you get if that's what needs to happen. I kept everything in perspective although expected to stay with the paper, because the movie has great actors like Michael B. Jordan (who will be the Human Torch).

LMAO!!!

They really are trying their best to alienate the primary fanbase and lose money at the box office, aren't they?

Even the X-Men movies, as different as they are from the comics, drew some inspiration from the well of the comics' rich history.

I hope not! Found Footage rarely, if ever works.

They said found footage "feel," whatever that means. I'm assuming it's along the lines of Into the Storm, where it looks like someone is following the characters around with a camera, but there's not supposed to be an actual "cameraman" there.

Looks like it works for Into the Storm, but I don't feel particularly fond of that stylistic choice for a Fantastic Four movie and it makes Trank look like a one trick pony. Will his Star Wars spinoff have a "found footage" feel, too?

I still maintain from everything I've seen and read about this project that it's a (relatively) low budget attempt to hold onto the rights. Fox doesn't want to risk committing a big budget on this one, so they're putting out a film with a small budget - probably not a lot of superpowers, no costumes, bunch of nobody actors, and they figure if it does well, they'll spend a little more on the sequel.

The Fantastic Four shouldn't look like a CW drama or like they belong on some MTV reality show. Even Reed Richards would call Miles Teller a dweeb. I reserve the right to be wrong, but nothing said about this project so far has lead me to believe this will be good. I've read the things the cast, the writer, the producers, and the director have had to say. Out of all of them, not one has given me any confidence.

I just read the article on Blastr about this news on Trank requesting his cast not read the comics. Just more proof that this movie reboot is going to suck. If Fox is trying to lose its rights to these Marvel films, they are heading in the right direction.

Actually, a train wreck would be more entertaining than this POS is turning out to be.

Fox can't stop screwing up. First, the Bryan Singer PR disaster. Second, the casting for the FF film. Third, a comic book movie that's not a comic book movie.

I don't mind a completely "new" story, but yeah, these "filmmakers" are just here to troll their own movie. I guess they all contracted whatever disease Shia LaBeouf has.

LOL.

The 30th dumb, misinformed, apathetic, arrogant comment by cast/crew that is followed by a denial of the previous comment = critics eating crow?

I was when I first heard about it being rebooted as I was hoping that there would finally be a good adaptation of the comics but now not so much.

Yes, contrarians who see the near universal disdain/hatred for the project and therefore feel compelled to proclaim loudly how they "will give it a chance' and "see it before they decide" and of course, fans of MBJ.

It matter not to them how far they go from the roots of it, how cheap a movie it is, how it will be smashed opening day by the same day Pixar release and the other genre releases bracketing it in front and behind and how it is in every way nothing more than Chronicle 2 under a different name and not a Fantastic Four movie in any way.

At this point, I don't think ANYONE, including Fox, Trank, or any of the cast or crew involved with the film, are looking forward to it... but they're commited!

Maybe Marvel Studios is looking forward to it, though.
