United Kingdom Our Idiot Brother - Sept. 16th, 2013

Distributor: Entertainment in Video

Release Date: September 16th, 2013

SYNOPSIS: Every family has one: the sibling who is always just a little bit behind the curve when it comes to getting his life together. For sisters Liz, Miranda and Natalie, that person is their perennially upbeat brother Ned, an erstwhile organic farmer whose willingness to rely on the honesty of mankind is a less-than-optimum strategy for a tidy, trouble-free existence. Ned may be utterly lacking in common sense, but he is their brother and so, after his girlfriend dumps him and boots him off the farm, his sisters once again come to his rescue.

This gem of a comedy film stars Paul Rudd, Elizabeth Banks and Zooey Deschanel.

(I already own the Aussie disc, but I am over the moon that it is getting a local release finally!)

Paul Rudd was great in this...but if you've seen Prince Avalanche yet you'll know what his best role is so far!

No buddy I have the Aussie Blu-ray.

This Blu-ray is solid PQ and AQ-wise though, I watched it with a friend. No extras though.

Pretty funny film. Was gonna get the blu-ray but picked up the DVD for a couple of quid from Fopp instead. Great for fans of Rudd though (like myself), and Coogan basically plays himself I seem to remember!

sounds great- my fave is prob 'I Love You, Man' with Rudd. Only one I didn't care for too much was 'Wanderlust'.

I initially had the UK release but I sold it and bought the canadian one (for less money) and the pic quality and audio was the same on both - PQ and AQ are superb!

It's similar to both of those, but a little more I Love You, Man I guess. Wanderlust was alright...David Wain's stuff in general is an acquired taste. I did feel like Wanderlust could be one to come back to again and it might seem better next time (incidentally his new film also stars Rudd, alongside Amy Poehler and seems quite a funny concept...whether it turns out well we'll have to wait and see).

Wanderlust was a mixed bag for me too, but as you said I will probably have to watch it again and see what I think.

Yeah it's generally really cheap now, kinda annoying as just before the price dropped everywhere I got the DVD for a couple of quid at Fopp. Might watch it again soon to see if it's worth the upgrade.
