Had to run all new 10' HDMIs due to the size of the thing yesterday so I could hide the cables inside the TV mount. Everything's plugged in properly and the TV will be done running slides tonight at 7pm (100 hours or whatever the heck they recommend).

Then, calibrate settings to my room.

Finally, spend all weekend with the best TV ever made.

Probably won't be able to focus all day at work.

I inputted in D-Nice's settings and tweaked them to my satisfaction.

Calibration, from what I'm reading, needs to wait until around 300-400 hours or so - still have a month before I can get there! I was able to use the ISF website to find a local calibrator, so it's something I'll use to get it done in March.

Very cool I haven't had the chance to see a ZT60 in person. If I would of knew they were coming out with the ZT series I wouldn't of bought my VT50.

Three weeks in w/ the ZT60. Still tweaking PQ settings to my liking based off of D-Nice's suggestions.

It may supposedly be a dying format, per what I hear over on the 3D section of the forum, but I take back everything bad I've said about 3D.

Two months in, 400 hours with the 65ZT60, and I'm enamored. PQ is heartbreakingly good - better than the 5020 now that it's settled in. TRULY inky blacks.

The oldest point of my system, the Monitor Audio BFXs from 2001 that act as my sides, I'll be replacing soon with either Martin Logan FX2s or SVS UltraSurrounds by summertime. I still have yet to find a reason to upgrade the VSX03 receiver.

Back to saving money, here. Was hoping to go with something like DALI, Wharfedale or new B&W 600 series and get away with spending less. But, to get the upgrade in sound I need, I got to pay.

I realized this when I swapped my prescription glasses for contacts and the next 3D movie blew my mind. It was really a treat when the 3D is done right.

I don't know why but wearing prescription glasses and then 3D glasses really degrades the 3D effect...I could barely get a sense of the depth or pop. Now its a different story.

Strongly suggest folks who wear prescription glasses to try eye contacts and then watch a 3d movie....its night and day difference
