Proximity chat would have been a great option to have. Worst case scenario, you'd have a MUTE button.
I am pretty much playing with clan members so everyone's been cool to play with. Great fun For those wanting to be in a clan or just play with cool people that are there to have fun and been (yup) cool, check out Starside echos. |

I've reached level 8 as a Titan and I just can't get any weapons that have any firepower. I've got the ground smash, but the standard weapons seem to be all assault rifles. When I play MP, I get absolutely murdered. Anyone have any insight that's played as a Titan why you can't get weapons (or I can't find) that are heavy duty and cause substantial damage?

I just started my Titan character today.
A few comments earlier someone said that the AI seemed to be tougher and I'm starting to believe that. I don't remember any Honored Knights being in the end of the Level where the ghost is activating the array. And there seems to be more Stealth Vandals wandering around too. |

When you think about this, this beta is really a version of a F2P model (at least market research regarding such). Signs of things to come, maybe? They've pretty much made it available to anyone who wants it free of any cost. They provide you with a very basic single player/co-op campaign and a basic multiplayer component. In both areas, they expose you to stuff (tease) that is only accessible at levels higher than you can achieve in this build, such as tough enemies and gear that is overlevelled. They also show you parts of maps (Moon and Venus) that are not in the campaign of this build. And there are areas of the Towers that are functionally limited. I think it would actually benefit them more to allow those who played the beta to keep their stats/gear/progress. It's probably an incentive to some to buy the full game. It's no harm to let them keep playing what they already have access to, as it won't remain interesting for long.
Even with the current build, they could easily set up shop in the Towers to sell access to more missions, more MP maps and modes, and anything else they want to sell. Sell the whole package for $59.99, higher for the premium versions, and sell them piecemeal for those who might only want MP or campaign. The beta version is pretty polished, and the game design is quite addiciting. It's feasible. With all of the codes they gave out, knowing which ones are linked to users who preordered and those that are not, they will know now many users took the bait and bought the game only after trying the content already shown to them. Those who want to keep your progress, how much would you be willing to pay for that? $2.00? $5.00? |

But my point is really that it's not a stretch to go from this beta build to a F2P model. We have in hand, free of any obligation for nearly anyone who wants to participate, a very slick piece of game that looks good, plays well and is fun to play (and just as importantly, it's addictive). For what it cost, there is a lot of high quality content here, and I will argue that this beta on its own is a better piece of work and a more finished product for the nothing that I paid for it than quite a few things that I have paid full price for as new releases in the last year. It's more than most demos I have tried. How often do demos have persistent audiences, or get "maintained" or tweaked to keep you interested. I would say, If you were one of the users who had not already preordered or who had not already intended to buy this game, and now you plan to have it on day one, you have succumbed to the free-2-play scheme, in a sense. Tease you with something, get you hooked, get you to pay for the rest. It's a brilliant move by the publisher or developer, whoever made the decision. |

Supposedly my order for the white edition bundle is limited. But hey, that's just a color scheme, if they don't have enough I won't be missing out much, well maybe a savings of a few bucks... |

I haven't yet gotten a new speeder, but I'm in the process of getting the 5 golden chests to get one as we speak. But I have gotten a new ship...yet the different ships you can buy in the beta are strictly asthetically different.
