This is such an iconic franchise, I'd be surprised if there weren't a bunch of really great SB releases for this film from various international sources. This one looks great, but I may have to hold back a bit to see what other countries/sources come up with.

Going for this one if US doesn't get this or something better for Steelbook. Love that art.

Nice steelbook.
It's just a shame that the movie sucked.

Did you see it in 3D?

There's a reason for this:

Quote:
Seamus McGarvey served as the film's cinematographer... Though the film was made to be released in 3D, it will receive a predominantly 2D release. McGarvey himself decided to shoot the film as if it were only 2D, because he dislikes working with 3D filming equipment and the experience of watching 3D films in theatres.

Yes, because there wasn't a 2D screening at a time that suited me. It still sucked. It was better than the Emmerich garbage, but just barely.

I saw it in IMAX 3D and thought there was very little 3D "pop," so to speak. The sound was phenomenal, though. My chief complaint with the movie was that it spent too much time developing these human characters that simply weren't that interesting to begin with (and AT-J is such a terrible actor in this), and after all the build-up, the actual monster smackdown just wasn't long enough. But overall it was a decent movie. I don't think I'll buy it unless this particular steelbook becomes available in the US.

I think I'll have to pick this version up. Looks great. Sucks Futureshop doesn't ship to U.S.

How do you guys normally pick up futureshop steels? Ebay?

I can if people want, but the price is not cheap with Canadian taxes and shipping. Best I would do it for is $45 shipped including all fees.
