Reno, NEVADA. "Battle Born"
Default Nascar09 demo

Played that for a little bit... few minutes. "Raced" Daytona just to check it against GT5:P...

Is EA kidding? They only need to build one or two cars and change the skins a little... Everything looks like PS1 or MAYBE PS2...

I popped in NCAA08 for the first time in about 9 months. Looks better than PS2 NCAA08 but what a crappy game.

I think I might be spoiled by newer games on PS3, but these games look like garbage to me. Civ Rev looks 1000x better than Nascar09 (though, civ rev has almost nothing going on...)

I wonder how NCAA09 will come out.

Nascar 09 is absolutely atrocious.

How EA gets away with this sub-par garbage is amazing.. This will turn into a $10 grab basket game in a week.

It's just like Nascar 08--crap.

All EA does with any of their games is change the cover.

Yeah, I forgot they use their "randomizer" software on the menus to make them look "fresh" each year.

But, who am I to judge. I haven't bought an EA sports game in some time. They get lots of unsuspecting people to buy their sports junk each year. Lucky for them sports "rosters" change often or they'd be screwed.

Guess what!

Play this game now and you're playing Nascar 10 a full year early!

ya. it's ridiculous , it really is. I was playing the demo, i had to check my settings to make sure the game was running in 720 and not 420. It looks terrible , it doesn't make any sense, we're in 2008

Damn it I was really looking forward to this game. The previews I read said they'd drastically improved everything since Nascar 08. Even added antialiasing.

I'm a huge NASCAR fan and was looking forward to it. (cries)

Only time nascar looks good is when you move the camera, thats because the next gen motion blur hides the poor textures and lack of detail.

I can't say I was horribly disappointed by this game, because it sucked as I expected it to. The fact that EA can continue squandering the NASCAR license, as well as the NFL license, really pisses me off.

The textures in this game are incredibly low res and the experience made me feel like I was playing an early PS2 game. Not good.

For true racing I'll stick with GT5 and F1 Championship Edition. I also have Motorstorm and Need for Speed: Carbon, so I'm not hurtin' for driving games at the moment. I might pick up Grid as well, because the demo was full of arcadey fun. NASCAR O9, however, is definitely not on my list.

It sucks.

Yeah, I'm getting a little confused now. The previews looked good, Gameinformer gave it 8/10, and user reviews on Amazon look favorable (and indicate online play)

Glad to see I'm not the only one who felt like they were playing a ps2 game. I was really looking forward to NASCAR this year but theres no way I'm picking this one up. No one should support EA by buying this kind of junk. If your a NASCAR fanboy who has to buy it at least buy it used so they dont get another sale towards their crappy work.

I find it hard correlating what I'm hearing here to what I'm hearing everywhere else.

Could the demo itself just be garbage (as they always seem to be whenever I bother looking at them, which is honestly why I do not bother with demos at all any more) and the actual full game OK?

I guess thats what I'm wondering. The demo was obviously limiting, but that is expected, as is the nature of a 'demo'.
How is the actual game play? Graphics? Career mode? Mobe makes a point as a few of the game reviews were not nearly as critical. Since the full GT isnt out yet, how about the Grid? I geuss iIm wondering if we are comparing apples to apples?
Hey, if it sucks it sucks... but just curious on the grading scale.

I'll let everyone know when I get it. I'll be getting it any rate.

But it seriously is odd the polar opposites I hear from the demo vs the reviews/previews of the real game. Which gets back to why I NEVER bother with demos at all anymore. They are not the final product and honestly often do a dis-service to the full game.

that's the problem i have with some of you people coming on here and bashing a game that you haven't played. most of you are hardcore racers that play the GTP or GRID. i myself am a hardcore NASCAR fan and i will only play NASCAR games regardless of who makes the games. i honestly believe the NASCAR games have improved a little each year. most of you are complaining about the graphics and not the game itself. there is alot of things you can do with this game, including building and customizing your own car. you can upload a program onto your computer and design your car then download it into the game. and you can also upload your own image. in otherwords, you can become your own NASCAR driver and compete against the field. so before you guys go rambling on about what you read or saw with a "DEMO", try playing the game first.
