Did you deduct the VAT?

The UK set is now down to £109.99, which after the VAT reduction I think will be around $160 delivered.

The UK usually get new releases on a Monday

Amazon UK have updated the picture to the full set image so I'm assuming it's the same as the US release. I'm pre-ordering this!

I can't find a listing on Amazon UK for the DVD version yet though, odd.

I'm in Quebec, Canada. Just saw that the set on Amazon UK will have a French track.

If I order the set on Amazon UK, will I get any duties? Can someone confirm this ?? They don't seem to charge any Import Fee deposit.

I wouldn't put too much faith in the specs that Amazon list, the discs will very likely be identical to the US discs.

I've ordered several BDs from amazon.uk over the years and there has never been any duty. In fact, I think they generally sneak through with no tax.

But keep in mind that a lot that depends on the luck of draw at Canada Customs. Every once in awhile they get bored or picky and decide to tax a package. However, 9 times out of 10, things get through with no extra fee.

I just had a look at Canadian Customs and it's mind-boggling. The BDs could be taxed at 6% or exempt as they're

so I have no idea. The examples of CDs and DVDs I viewed are both exempt under different Tariffs. But Canadian Customs seems to be extremely complicated!

Last I checked, Canada is supposed to collect both GST (their version of EU VAT or U.S. sales & use tax) and actual duty on anything over C$20; but that makes so many imported packages taxable that Canada Post probably can't keep up. It's definitely a tossup as to whether or not Canadians will pay duty on it from Amazon UK. (Amazon U.S. now ships to Canada by a method that forces duty prepayment, probably to encourage ordering from Amazon Canada.)

U.S. import laws are more realistic; U.S. Customs & Border Protection doesn't collect state-imposed use taxes at all (even the Marketplace Fairness Act isn't likely to change that), packages of less than US$200 delivered by USPS (but not FedEx or UPS) and all music CDs, DVDs & BDs are exempt from duty, and the most common rate on the few non-exempt DVDs & BDs is 2.7%.

This one should be OK, at least to the U.S.; after VAT deduction & S&H it costs £94.74 (or US$160.17 at current XE rates -- ACC won't work on preorders more than a week in advance, so till it ships you're at the mercy of the forex markets). I'm already preordered at both WBShop (less than $5 higher after now-dead 20%-off code & with sales tax) and Amazon U.S. (waiting for them to PM some other folks, with Prime I'd get it on release date), so I'm not gonna jump on it; but it'll be a good deal for some folks.

The truth of the matter is that 90% of small package movement here is based on the honour system (and I don't have much honour about paying extra taxes).

9 out of 10 things I receive from abroad are just moved through without examination. Every once in a while, something gets pulled for a random check and they'll assess some fee...usually sales taxes. Then things return to normal.

I've ordered many things from ImportCDs. A half dozen packages were dropped off in the mail with NOTHING owing...then I got one box that was nabbed by customs and assessed some taxes. After that, it was back to normal with packages being sent with no extra fees.

Some people have no honor paying actual taxes they are supposed to, I can only imagine they would not want to be paying anything extra

This might have been discussed already but with so many people complaining I don't have the time to search through 50 pages. Are these color issues normal for this series? I notice a lot that the color goes soft and yellow, but this one stood out because it was the same scene. After the frame on the left there's a 4 second shot of Alfred then it cuts to the right frame. Just wondering if the BD is going to look the same or not.

Thanks for the information RBBrittain and Dex Robinson, very informative. I'm glad importing to the UK is simpler, although it was much better when we were allowed £18 and not the current £15.

The more i read about this the more im going to explode from excitement.

Is there any show since 1966 thats balanced enough for adults and kids?

I put on Star Wars Family Guy for my nephew and he never laughed and didnt get into it as a PT/Clone Wars era fan. I was giggling, but it might have been a little to smart for his age.

Maybe The Simpsons?

My nephew and niece love the Warner Bros cartoons of the 90s: Animaniacs, Pinky and the Brain, and especially Freakazoid.
