The trilogy as one boxset or the individual releases of each film?

Ordered the box set from Amazon. I'll get it tomorrow. Really hoping I get a good set that isn't damaged. I've seen some complaints of people getting theirs damaged.
Besides that, this is a blind buy for me. I've never seen any of the LOTR movies. I know I'll be happy. I have no doubt. The Hobbit really brought me over to LOTR and this set looks pretty badass. Can't wait to start watching tomorrow. ![]() |

I've ordered LOTR Extended Bluray set during the Gold box deal from Amazon.com for $37.99 plus another movie with Expedited International Shipping (shipping alone was $24 lol) to me here in Egypt.
Estimated delivery was Aug. 6 - Aug. 20 when I placed the order but when it is shipped, it said Sept. 5 ! I contacted Amazon support and they said the package should arrive well before that date and they refunded me the $24 shipping ![]() Now I can't find the LOTR set sold by Amazon at all. It is only available from 3rd party sellers FBA. Now I am very worried. Did they just put it on sale to clear their stock preparing for another version of the disc set? Could it be a re-issue for FOTR without the green tint problem ? If that happens, will New Line or Amazon replace the older version with the new one for people who got the older one ? |

It's there, but very subtle.
It looks terrible on the screencaps on my non calibrated monitor, but in motion on my calibrated set-ups, it looks fine. If your cyan is over saturated, it's going to be worse. |

I don't think there will be any the heat as far as a reissue and remaster. I wouldn't expect the next big Boxset until the "mega" for both hobbit and LOTR extended editions. Even then the "green tint" I believe was done on purpose thus will not be removed. |

The Green Tint "issue" is a non-issue for me. In fact I've never even heard about all the hoopla until reading through this thread. After watching the first half on FOTR (time constraints), the screen-caps make it seem worse than it really is. IMO it's not a big deal. If people are worried too much about it, the theatrical edition is 7 bucks on Amazon. I will say, yes, there is a slight "tint" to the picture but it flows well with the setting of the movie.
The Trilogy is a nice edition to my library even if it's 80 bucks. |

I saw Return of the King in Concert at Ravinia near Chicago on Friday night like I had mentioned earlier, here's some pictures I took from it. I was about 3 rows from the stage on the left center side. I'll post a video later of the Lighting of the Beacons scene, it was INCREDIBLE.
