BDP-S300 will decode Dolby TrueHD but you need to set the HDMI for PCM. The player will NOT sent via the 5.1 analog outputs.

I should mention that I proved to myself that it does decode Dolby TrueHD via HDMI (pcm). The perfect test is compare the English Dolby Digital 5.1 via digital coax versus the Dolby Digital TrueHD via HDMI (pcm) for V For Vendetta on blu-ray. No comparison.
