I planned on doing that but my local cinema never shows a film early enough.

Hah! Back in the 80s I was working the night shift, and there was a small, second run theater on the way. I saw Aliens every work night for the two weeks that the theater was showing it.

I've never done that with any other movie.

Excellent movie! It surpassed all expectations. I would give it a 9.1 rating, only because I wanted to see a lot more! There was so many teasers in the film, it could have lasted another hour and i'd still think it was too short!

Anybody else shed a tear at the beginning? Cm'on, you know you did!

Beginning? No. Later... yes. And you know the scene that I mean.

That could be, but I was immediately thinking of the final scene when
[Show spoiler]Peter sits down and finally opens up his mother's birthday gift. It was almost like they were building up to that one great moment, and Chris Pratt sold that wonderfully with his acting.
It gets no more emotional than that.

Don't play the laughing boy. There's only two things I hate in this world. People who are intolerant of other people's cultures and the Dutch.

Bingo.
[Show spoiler]Rocket's reaction to Groot's sacrifice was especially heart-wrenching.

The fact that a CGI character could touch your feels so much is amazing.

Let's make one thing clear. This here is our booty. You want him, you go through us. Or more accurately, we go through YOU.

Just got back from my third viewing. Two hours just flies right by still.
[Show spoiler]I finally get it when Korath and the Guardians collide in the Dark Aster.
Korath: "Starlord"!
Peter: "Finally"! Then smirks
LOL!

What percentage of the performance were you surprised by?

Yeah, his performance wasn't groundbreaking, but it certainly exceeded expectations of his acting, I'm sure especially from those who look at wrestlers as a joke. Glad he was able to stick it to them.

My favorite part of his character was the scene where
[Show spoiler]Drax is giving compliments to each of his new friends, and then calls Gamora a green wh**e
.
