I kinda felt like I would main as one class, but i'm very likely to end up levelling some of the other classes slowly alongside my main. Once i've kind of.maxed out my main, i'll.max out the other classes. They've all.got.thwir own pros and 'cons' I suppose and which you prefer depends totally on you as an individual. No one class imo has a clear advantage. They all kind of balance out.

Kinda disappointed this doesn't have split screen co-op. Seems like it would be perfect for it!

This is exactly why I think this beta is Bungie's feeler for future FTP games. I know you're not alone, and I admit this was a very complete and refined feeling package for beta test. It was a better gaming experience than plenty of "finished" games we buy for $60. Thief and Murdered: Soul Suspect are some recent examples. So I know, that for the right price, after playing this free bit, you and others, and maybe even I, would fork over some cash (at the right price) for additional content, whatever that may be. I don't like it, and I could be completely wrong, but that's what I think this was really all about.

The golden gun is such a nice perk though. And the ranged melee is a big advantage.

Whilst I think F2P models can be done, see DCUO for instance, its a very fine balance. I think Betas and what not are simply acting as a further marketing tool for new IPs as well as letting devs know what works, doesn't and may need overhauling.

If Bungie did Destiny F2P, I would expect them to charge for expansion packs, offer micro transactions on cosmetics etc. This is typically what happens. Some do it better than othrrs imo.

War Thunder is probably the most price gouging F2P game i've seen recently. I think Bungie and Activision are simply changing tactics on how to market etc.

that's what happens you have a beta available on all platforms. I bet it ranks up there as one of the new IP with most cancelled preorders as well

Consensus seems to be mostly positive. Cancelled pre-orders also aren't a good barometer because people tend to switch from one retailer to.another and date can be skewered when not properly collated.

I think sales will be the true barometer. Watch Dogs appears to be the best selling new IP thus far, but Destiny WILL overtake it imo. Its much broader and appealing to larger audiences.

I'm also hoping the expansion pack releasing in Destiny for December means a stable gap between content. That may mean 4 expansion packs per year. I'm pretty interested in how much content they'll actually pack in.

I feel they'll keep from introducing new areas on Earth etc. until Destiny 2.

To those of you who preordered at Best Buy and are planning on going to their midnight launch they've updated their list with more stores participating, and they are also giving away Destiny themed t-shirts to those who attend.

Not a bad looking T-shirt. It's a nice bonus on top of the $10 gc.

With Bungie calling them "expansions" and not DLC I expect them to be fairly large...and the fact that they are going to be $20 each.

Considering it's similarities to mmo's I would expect the expansions to be substantial. If they're not then shame on bungie for calling them expansions.

Releasing an expansion in the first 4 months of release is depressing. We will probably see both expansions before the game hits the 1 year mark which would make it 100$ for everything in the first year. Really sucks.

The main game better not disappoint.

I can't decide on getting this or not. I was never into Halo. Gamestop told me it will be similar to Halo and Mass Effect.....is this right? I have nothing to play at the moment until Far Cry in November.
