I guess it really was the end.
The question is did what we see in Africa happen or was it part of his script?
With way just brilliant .
It was just Kenny's script. But oddly enough that part did remind me of the Six Feet Under ending as we got to see how main characters eventually died. Even though it was just his imagination.

That's precisely how I viewed it as well.

Either way it was very emotional and pretty beautiful.
Lots of good cameos tonight as well. Alexander Skarsgard was really funny.

it was a great finale but I have a feeling the show will be back eventually. Everything in the end was just part of Kenny's script, so they could come back. season 3 was supposed to be the last, I think it is very possible that they will surprise us with a 5th season. Id love to see a season about Kenny trying to get his script produced.

I'm sad to see the show go but what a great way to end it.

Loved it. Great way to send the show off (if it really is the end...and it does kind of feel more definitive than the end of season 3 did).

Yeah, he was the head of the network.

Yeah, he was the head of the network.

Lindsay Lohan was great too.
The cameos were a nice cherry on top for sure. In my estimation, having Cohen, Skarsgard, and Lohan in the finale can also give the show producers leverage to push for another season. If they can convince HBO to bring back Cohen, that would almost certainly secure a 5th season. I think Cohen alone, with his ties to HBO in years past can get the deal done.

I'm just imagining a silly character quarrel between Cohen's character and Ferrell's (Old South!), that alone would be worth a 5th season.
Maybe it's a stretch, but wouldn't it suit the theme of the show if it had 9 seasons to represent the 9 innings of baseball?

I didnt even know that was Lohan until bsweetness mentioned it. I kept trying to think of who that could have been.

At first I thought it was Emma Stone under lots of bad makeup

Throughout the episode, and several times since then, I've thought about how funny Cohen's character was and how great it would have been to have him throughout the fourth season. If they were to come back for a fifth season, I really do hope he'd be a part of the story.

I love the series but does it even get good ratings? I was under the impression it doesn't given how short the seasons are. In 4 seasons there has been only 29 episodes.

The length of the seasons has had nothing to do with the ratings. McBride and Hill wanted to keep the seasons, and the series, short on purpose. McBride put it this way in an interview, "We've always imagined this thing as something that we would keep short and not give it a chance to get old."

Even though it's not a ratings powerhouse, I'm sure HBO would have been perfectly fine with ten episode seasons (which is what several of their comedies have had over recent years) if McBride and Hill had wanted to do them.

Does anyone know if a Blu-ray release of the whole series is scheduled? The 1-3 pack seems like a reasonable price, but the only full pack I've seen is in the UK, and DVD only http://www.amazon.co.uk/Eastbound-Do...bound+and+down

I'm guessing they might not bother, and we will have to buy the 1-3 and then 4 alone.

Thanks
