Mine is on the way, pictures will be up by Saturday. Along with Hunchback, Aristocats, The Raid 2, Unknown, 30 Days of Night and possibly Pocahontas and The Rescuers.

I think this has a great chance of getting down to clearance prices even with a smaller print run. Zavvi has way overestimated how many people are into weird Stephen Chow movies, especially at premium region-b locked prices.

Normally Zavvi's regular Steelbooks seem to sell out in the first five minutes, so the fact this is limited to such few copies and I was still able to land one I guess shows how much of a flop this probably is for them. Happy to pay the amount I did, but I'll still be gutted if literally by the end of the month it's like a third of the price.

You can pretty much tell which type of Zavvi titles will bomb. La Haine, This is England -- arthouse stuff, Hero, Shaolin Soccer - niche Asian movies that the masses care nothing for. I guess Zavvi actually staffs real cinema people as opposed to all by-the-numbers marketing people.

^^ That's not really full gloss is it?....like the smooth, full gloss, painted type finish on 'The Green Hornet' for example..??

Front is fully spot glossed with brushed metal middle. Back is brushed metal with spot gloss character.

Doesn't look like a premium gloss finish on the front- similar to 'Salt', 'The Green Hornet' 'Alladin' (zavvi) etc...
It's more of a brushed satin gloss finish isn't it?

Definitely not Aladdin quality. It's a thick sticky gloss.

@Bobz: Cheers mate!

Just saw some more pics on another site-- so the front bottom looks fully glossed, and the front top is brushed metal gloss...very unique looking. Never seen that finish before.
Thx again for pics

It doesn't have that same finish that the Anchorman Steelbook does (God I LOVE that finish) but the metallic orange of the colouring of the Steelbook is really, really gorgeous.

Actually sat down to watch the film itself and I don't know much about the master itself...but it's no demo for your TV, that is for sure. The Bluray looks fantastic but the film itself looks awful. They've cleaned it up wonderfully and there is some lovely detail on show but they can only work with what they have, and what they have is not much. The film ranges from at worst 70s grindhouse to at best, early 90s TV movie level of quality visually, with a dull palette of muted colours where everything looks grimy. I can never tell whether this is intended as the film seems to have much contempt for China or if the film was just cheaply shot. Whatever it's doing, it doesn't work, and especially so on a format that bares all like Bluray.
