Hey everyone!
I'm going to LA in a few weeks and have tickets to 2 TV tapings at CBS Studios in LA. What TV show tapings have you attended? How was the experience? Any good tips to having an easy time while at the studio? Any general tips for LA would be very helpful as well! Thanks! |

I have gone twice to LA, both short, last time I went for 3 days in June.
I recommend the Go Los Angeles Card if you want to do a bunch of turisty stuff. I bought the card of two days ($70 I think it was) from Costco which was cheaper than anywhere else (this was on my first trip to LA). Is a great card and did a BUNCH of stuff with the card, including the sony and WB studio tours, you just need to time appropriately what to do. Free touristy stuff like the Getty and the observatory were cool. Here is the 4day pass link which includes Universal Studios for example: http://www.costco.com/Los-Angeles-4-...100109516.html Last edited by Carlanga; 08-06-2014 at 03:37 AM. |

Never been to LA, but here in NY I've been to:
The Daily Show with Jon Stewart The Colbert Report Late Night with Jimmy Fallon* *That show ended. Jimmy Fallon now does The Tonight Show It's pretty much just listening. People tell you where to sit, when to clap/cheer/etc., and DO NOT take pictures. Even with the flash off, it pisses them off. And before the main show starts, a comedian will come out to hype up the audience. They are usually pretty funny. |

i live in LA but haven't gone to tapings really. the more interesting stuff seems hard to get tickets for (ie talking dead or something).
i went to dr. phil a few months ago. tried to get tickets for the voice but apparently did not get it for who knows what reason. they let everyone apply and tell you they're working on getting you tickets, then say weeks later it's sold out. |

In 1999 I was on a high school spring break trip to Disney World and the second day some of us went to MGM and when we went in they were looking for young people to watch a taping of a performance of a new young singer for around an hour. We decided to go and it ended up being a performance by Britney Spears for some Disney Easter special. At the time she had a knee injury so it was just her sitting on a box lip-synching Baby One More Time while her backup dancers performed behind her. They played the song about 8 times and then we had the opportunity to meet her and get autographs but we were bored and wanted to go on the rides so we decided not to meet her.

I've only been to one taping. I went to The Tonight Show specifically to see Brian May. It was on Mon. April 5th, 1993 to promote his Back to the Light disc and his appearance at The Palace Theater on Tue. April 6th, 1993.
I was living in L.A. at the time. Edit: I may have also gone to another Tonight Show taping on Apr. 28th, 1993 to see Jethro Tull. Last edited by skyofcrack; 08-25-2014 at 04:03 PM. |
