Thank you all for the non-Region A suggestions! it seems like many or most of these titles would eventually come out from Criterion, so I think I may actually hold off for now. When my current player craps out I will reconsider my next player being Region Free. |

It doesnt. And the AQ is pretty bad but the PQ pretty good.
As for The Third Man, indeed, it shouldnt be reasonable to pay $70 when you can get the SC but it is indeniable that PQ on the Criterion is much better. Last edited by tenia; 08-31-2014 at 12:41 PM. |

Note that all the shorts are dvd and not blu ray. There are 20 dvds with the set and only 10 blus, unfortunately. Not worth it for me since I own all the criterion chaplin on blu and the chaplin mutuals , which just came out. That's why I just pulled the trigger on The UK imports of The Circus and Limelight, which are at a great price right now.

The audio quality, soundtrack, and sound effects are amazing on WoTW. The LFE is also pretty damn good. I wish they re released it in theaters for its anniversary. |

The usual Tom Cruise hate, Dakota Fanning screaming too much, the family relationship being so focused on. The ending, which is actually how the original movie ended so that's a moo point. |

Okay, I had a dream last night and in it was that Criterion newsletter illustration of the blue lion. This is all the truth what I'm about to write here. So, in my dream, I saw a DVD in a magazine with the image of a blue lion and on top of the artwork it said "Hardy" the lion. It didn't make sense but then again, I was dreaming. So I woke up, went on Google and found nothing pertaining to that dream artwork I had in my sleep, however, did discover a Hanna-Barbera cartoon from 1971 entitled "Lippy the Lion and Hardy Har Har". It was a tv show that lasted one season. I find this ironic because the hyena called Hardy in the cartoon is an eternal pessimist, something I can relate to. Is this a vision? If not, it has nothing to do with Criterion, but I just had to share this.

I hope we get Passion of Joan of Arc next year. It's been a painful wait.

I didn't mind the ending, I loved idea of it, I think I was more annoyed that they used Morgan Freeman for the end, he gets so boring and is used for everything that needs a bit of drama, he's a great actor but my god.... over used lol

Picked up
Eraserhead - On Order Hausu or "House" (1977) Antichrist Today for the buy 2 get one free. With my Free I made a blind buy. It was between Repo Man and House, and I decided to go on House. Did I make the right choice? I still haven't take it out of its packaging yet. And another question, the B&B cashier told me Eraserhead would ship on September 16th, the day of its release. How long do B&B shipments take to arrive when you've preorder them like that? I really wish I could just get it on release day. Last edited by Echovoid52; 08-31-2014 at 09:10 PM. |
