So you got the same problem I do. My local NBC affiliate is going thru the same thing. I've hooked up an antenna to my TV so I can get the station. I'm hoping that they get this resolved soon especially by Sunday because the local team the Colts play on SNF and people here will not be happy about it. Well unless they have cable.

You would think the company that owes the station would realize that the deal would expire right before the NFL season in order to get a deal done by then, but what do I know.

As much as I dislike the Packers, I don't see that happening. The game could go either way, but I don't think the Pack will lay down. They are just too good, and the stars are unlikely to align for the Seahawks like they did in February. Either way, it's only two days away.

The owners of the station probably know that by having the contract expire right before the NFL and TV season it increases the pressure on DirecTV to get a deal done or risk losing customers. If the deal expired in early July there wouldn't be a lot of people that cared because few people watch NBC during the summer, but by having the deal expire in September it's going to upset a lot of customers if they miss the game or have to get an antenna.

I remember about 5 years ago my local CBS affiliate had their deal with the largest cable company in the state expire a week before the Super Bowl, and the cable company lost thousands of customers to Dish and DirecTV because customers feared a deal wouldn't get done in time for the game, although the deal did get done a couple hours before the game.

I don't have a problem with that. The 'boys need all the help they can get on defense, even if it is just the practice squad. I wouldn't be surprised to see him make the team if there's an injury.

Michael Sam is not an upgrade really, even on the worst defensive line in the league. I still bet he'll be one of those players who make like 3 plays a season and everyone starts going nuts. Sam lacks size and true speed, not a good combination for a DE.

He has enough talent to be on a practice squad, but the media circus that comes with him is what I wouldn't want around my team. I guess Dallas figures they already have so much media exposure that this won't be a distraction.
