Did you know that a long time ago, pink was the "boys" color and blue was the "girls" color? Pink was thought to be bold and blue was thought to be soft.

It may be reversed in modern times.... but they are just colors

Bonus fact: Elizabeth used to be a boys name.

And you just keep telling yourself that - anything to make yourself feel more manly while watching this...

No offence, but your joking can get pretty abrasive.

Sailor Moon is an anime classic that is, IMO, worthwhile for those of all ages to see (well, probably 10 and up but basically it's worth checking out for all anime fans). So to those of you doing so: please do not continue to jokingly berate others for loving this gem of a show based on their ages.

Something I never really understood, and I don't think has ever been explained. Not n the original anime series, not in the manga, not in the live-action adoption, and so far not even in Crystal. If Luna knows stuff about their past lives, how come she doesn't know Usagi is Princess Serenity? And why does Artemis seem to know more about their past than Luna does? Luna is always like "is she the princess, what about her, or maybe her"

I really don't have a good answer for that. It's possible she just knows her mission, but all the details from the past are a blank to her like the rest of them?

That is explained in all three: She hasn't fully awakened. Nobody is fully awakened to their true past selves until Usagi obtains the Imperial Silver Crystal and they discover that she is Princess Serenity. Queen Serenity's stored memories fully revive them. Luna's initial reawakening is just that she needs to find and awaken each senshi and find the princess. In Crystal and the Manga, you can sort-of see each senshi's moment of awakening before Luna discovers their identity.

What's more confusing is after that point, they all continue to be their reborn Earth-selves in addition to their Moon Kingdom first-life selves.

I don't think it's confusing. They continue to live their reborn lives with memories of their past life.

But why does Artemis remember more early on? He knows Usagi is the Princess before she knows herself.

He awakened before she did. Ever read "Sailor V"? It's actually the first two volumes. Sailor Moon is technically the sequel.

This is one of the major changes the anime had from the manga. In the anime, Sailor V and Artemis didn't have their full memories like everyone else until the crystal was found. In the manga Artemis and Sailor V had the majority of their memories back by the time they met up with the other senshi. Sailor Venus is the leader of the senshi so it makes sense that Artemis would awaken first to train her, and it seems like part of her mission was to impersonate the princess until Usagi awakened.

Since they are both "magical" cats, you'd expect both to recover rather quickly. It just seems odd. Oh well.

I like your sheets.

I just assumed when they awoken they only had some information. Artemis's mission was to find Mina and train her and he did that an entire year before Luna found Usagi. It would make an interesting back story to find out what happened to Luna and Artemis when they were re-born on earth and what happened to them before they found Usagi/Mina.

The first four episodes of the new dub will be available on Hulu this Friday night, and episodes 5-23 will be available this Monday, at the same time that subbed episodes 35 and 36.

The dubbed episodes will only be available for a limited time (more than likely until November).
