I was expecting a holographic foil cover of the Autobots symbol and when you place it under the sun directly at noon it reveals a nude megan fox

Anyway its enough for me does have a Blu-Ray logo and Blue color with DolbyTrueHD rather than Dolby Digital + exists on HD-DVD(the dead format)

What is wrong with you guys? The Japanese cover, with celebrity faces and plastered floating heads is better?

This cover is understated, sleek, and somewhat ominous. It was one of the best HD-DVD covers made, and now is one of the best BD covers. Just because it's the same doesn't make it bad.

I admit the eye would have been cool, but I like this better. Simplicity is normally better than whiz-bang stuff, at least.

I wish they could've done something a bit different for blu-ray. Like Close Encounters, I'd like to see a few more box set Blu-ray editions out there. Transformers could've have potential.. Batman Begins next month!! That's gonna be a sweet package!

I don't understand the nature of that example. The link points to a thread of more than 50 pages worth of grass roots Photoshopped fake BD covers with a wide range of artwork, some good and some bad.

The reality of package design and making a package appropriately visible in the retail store aisle is an issue that will not disappear.

The slip-case model could be a decent compromise. Although few people want to throw away a paper-board slip case, even if it is polluted with decals and other spam. The more retail aisle friendly (and boring) design can be put on the slip case and then a much better looking design -perhaps even the original movie poster art- could be used on the actual BD product case.

Overall, it's an occasion for BD product designers to think outside of the box. Some people want all their BD movie cases looking alike. I don't care about that. I'm more open to more creative (and classy) solutions.
