That's why if you order from amazon, you should select the gift wrapping option so that they'll send it in a box.

It wouldn't really make sense to use the same red cover art of the standard Director's Cut edition on the Theatrical Cut edition too.

If it's true that the slipbox holds two individual amray cases, maybe the Director's Cut inside the slipbox shares the same (red) cover that the standard Director's Cut that's sold alone has. The problem is, that cover will most likely have "Blu-ray + DVD Combo Pack" printed on it, which conflicts with the Bluray + Bonus Disc

It seems that even if they reuse certain artwork for the covers, they all need to have different wording describing the content printed on them. And I count possibly seven different covers:

-The standard Director's Cut Blu-ray + DVD Combo Pack (with reverse alternate cover)

-The Limited Edition Slipbox

-The Limited Edition Director's Cut Blu-ray + Bonus Disc (with reverse alternate cover)

-The Limited Edition Theatrical Cut Blu-ray (with reverse alternate cover)

So any updates on the source for the audio on most of the "new" footage?

I've never tried that before, but it would only cost an extra $3.49 to guarantee boxed delivery via Amazon if true. You'd just need to go to the order summary for this order and change your gift options.

Apparently in Canada it's gift wrapping paper only and it's $3.99. They don't mention any box.

"The Nightbreed Director's Cut is an entirely different film than the one which was released in theaters. Its 20 minutes longer than the theatrical cut, but it contains over 40 minutes of new and altered footage. Clive oversaw the reconstruction and edit himself, personally ensuring that, at long last, he was able to tell the story he always wanted to tell, but until now, had never been given the chance. Once the scenes were reordered, and the original film footage restored, the entire film received a brand new sound mix and color pass. It is, in every way, a different movie. It contains more story, more monsters, and there's even a musical umber. Ultimately, what we've delivered is a love story 25 years in the making."
yoooooooo this is the best news

Well I'm not sure if you're guaranteed a box but most of the time they do ship in a box to protect the wrapping paper from ripping. I've ordered blu rays with the gift wrapping option twice and received a box both times so I'm just speaking from my experiences.

maybe thats the front cover of the theatrical disc

They love to drop special features on bonus DVDs (how many of their 2 disc sets are 1 BD + the special features on a DVD?), and since they keep referring to the set as 3 disc, and not explicitly 3 Blu-Ray discs, I'm fearing they will drop yet another DVD disc on a BD release.
Out of the Scream releases? I can only think of two off the top of my head: Halloween II and Phantom of the Paradise. It's not THAT frequent of a trend on their part.

The monsters artwork is one of the theatrical posters, not to mention more well known (as you conceded earlier). It makes sense that that would be the reverse artwork used.

Especially since at 10,000 copies of the LE being made, you can pretty much forget WB releasing their own theatrical disc.

Well for all we know they could release it next year...or 5 years from now...or 10 years from now. But he was stating it like it was a fact WB was going to release this next year and that is just flat out false.

I thought maybe the studio changed the advertising poster to the monsters artwork after its original disastrous first week with the eyes artwork, but I couldn't remember for sure. And googling the monsters art poster, it does come up and is an authentic Fox release poster, but it's odd that it has no R-rating on it - so that made me question if it was ever actually used in the US. Every poster would need its rating exposed.

In any event, no big deal, people want the monsters art more. But I think I'll just keep the commissioned art in front on this one - and that's a first for me on any Scream title.

I hope David Cronenberg will share some stories of playing as Dr. Decker on the interviews extra.

Nonetheless, super excited for this set now that I know what to expect.

And do tell me: how many 2 disc sets, where the first disc is the film and the second is the special features, they did release as a 2 BD set?

Like I said, whenever they have to add a disc for special features, the huge majority of times they go for a DVD.

For such a massive passion project like this, I doubt they would skimp out and use a DVD for the bonus features disc.

Loving the updated specs. Slightly concerned at how much content that is on one disc. An massive amount to squeeze in. But can't wait for my order to ship from Diabolik, hopefully it'll arrive in the UK prior to Halloween.

You mean, like the 15 disc Limited Edition of the Halloween box set, one of the biggest releases for a genre series? That didn't stop them from dropping a DVD on the set, did it?

But I'm glad the Nightbreed set is 3 Blu-Rays.
Now, here's hoping the transfers are up to par.

In the States perhaps, but Nightbreed hasn't had a blu-ray announcement in Europe and I would be surprised if it didn't get a release over here. It is a Clive Barker movie and European fans who don't have region free players have complained they want to get Shout's release but can't.
