Following helps. Who wants to play a game and not find any matchmaking? I'm not disagreeing about content, but the online following will help make this game what it is. I want to play with and against different folks. I don't think anyone said the PvP will be the main selling point of the game. It was, in my opinion, the weakest part of the beta, but I have no doubt a lot of that was repetitive nature and limited upgrades. I'm most excited about finding a clan and doing some of these co-op missions.

I declined to do that and just Amazon preordered. Already on its way to me by tomorrow!

I too, stay away from PvP online. The only PvP games I've ever been good at online were MechWarrior4 on the PC more than ten years ago, and Transformers: Fall of Cybertron last year.

Nice! I forgot to mention that you could hit up Target right at 8 am tomorrow but opted to go with Amazon which is always a safe bet.

Yea normally I do Amazon but getting the ps4 bundle and best buy had a 10% promo on reward zone bucks if i used best buy card. Going to try the 10% movers coupon as well so saving some money there as well.

Am I the only one who works here? Midnight releases and 8am store visits,

By the time I get home, set up the PS4, it installs, and I start playing it'll be 9pm, sheesh

One must forgo sleep every know and again. But yeah, midnight releases aren't for me. I say this at two in the morning the day of its release after failing asleep studying at around 7pmish the night before and now can't sleep (and can't play destiny either as i'm just picking it up in store tomorrow).

Midnight release may be a real pain on this one, is it possible that the game itself will need to download and install content when you first launch it as with the beta?

That coupled with character creation (if you are concerned about how you want your character to look) and choosing the class you want will take up some time before you get to start playing.

As I mentioned earlier, I am not sure how the pre-load from the PSN version works. I downloaded the game client, but it downloaded extremely quickly, and I have doubts that it is the entire download.

Look at your application data. I had the same concerns, but it downloaded in the background and I have 29GB of Destiny.

Can someone who has played the beta please explain how the PvP "invasions" and co-op happen? Is it like Dark Souls where people spawn into your SP mission, is it a specific MP arena, or what? Can you disable co-op, or PvP altogether?

I don't want to play and have random people pop into my headset. I hate that.

As far as I could tell from the beta, you can only talk to people in your fireteam. PvP is a separate mode altogether from the single player experience. It's team based, like most MP. You play with your single player character, but you have to launch it yourself. I could be wrong, but I don't think there are any invasions like in Dark Souls. There are random events that pop up as you are traversing areas, and others in the area can participate, but that is a co-op experience.

Basically you need to be conected to the internet to play the game. The boxes all say Online Only on the front. So you can play solo just fine as long as you're connected to Bungie servers.

For playing MP on PS4 you'll need PS+ but for solo play you don't need a sub.

Even though the cap was so low, and not that much to explore, people really seemed to get a lot out of the beta, so I am hoping the full game to have quite a bit of content.

Not only that, but the XP required to get to lvl 8 in the Alpha/Beta was adjusted. So say it took you 5 hours to get to lvl 8 in the Beta it could take you 15 hours in the full game because the XP needed will have been increased.

Not to mention that we will have a sub class to lvl up as well, and we can lvl up the other classes too I believe. Should be more than enough to keep people happy.

I know people put in over 40 hours on the Beta alone. So I've got no worries about the longevity of it
