DSP cause LAG in audio processing. Audyssey just detect this LAG and put the distance to correct it. Most of the time the 'Wrong' distance from the sub detected by Audyssey is the correct one to compensate for the lag inside the Sub itself. There's a thread on AVSForum from a Audyssey Representative that explain it all..
