Nice... Very helpful to this situation...

Anyway, I'll ask the normal questions. What kinds of inputs are you using for your disc? Is the player actually set to 1080/24p (does your TV support that?) What is the HD DVD set to? Are you using HDMI, Component, Composite, S-Video or what? Is it connected through a reciever or HDMI switcher or anything like that? Have you compared other HD DVD's to Blu-Ray before? And last but not least, are your glasses/contact lenses clean? That last one was a joke and not meant to make fun.

Which brings a slight hope that a double dip will be on the horizion sometime soon ! Read ? This is skimming, not reading. Reading occurs when no one is around. Alone, with just enough light, to know the story. I guess, I just have high hopes for a blu ray movie. In time, I "might" be right ? But if not; I will still have a GREAT time !

Ah, but the semi-colon was not used properly, so . . . the mystery remains unsolved

This is my second 'DOY!' for the day. But I'll still say it. Doy!!! Same freakin' encode.

rubberghost: instead of just saying that the HD DVD is 10x better then the BD why don't you try telling us why? what do you see (or hear) on the BD that makes you jump to that conclusion. Maybe then we can try and guess what is wrong. Also give some details on your HD DVD set-up and your BD setup.

Yeah, they can't be much different. Something is wrong somewhere.

I have seen both the HD DVD and the Blu Ray, and they both look pretty much the same, and they both are LEAPS ABOVE the Standard DVD version I have (From the Kubrick Collection)

I rented this movie last week and saw it for the first time. The quality is pretty avg. (for blu-ray), its not as good as 2001 or The Shinning, more like Full Metal Jacket.

As for the movie, its one of the worst movies i have ever seen. I am a kubrick fan and now have seen all his movies except strangelove. Clockwork was by far the worst of his movies. It was horrible.

The movie gets more and more topical every day. To each his own though. For me, it is a standout movie.

I like this movie, but then again I really liked the book.

Not sure what your exact tastes in movies is, but Dr. Strangelove is a very cynical flick, and it's one of my favorites..... Don't let your disappointment in this one prevent you from viewing "How I stopped worrying and learned to love the bomb"

A Clockwork Orange is worth the upgrade just for the audio....

I thought Full Metal Jacket and Clockwork were both great improvements (very vivid) over the Standard DVDs...... I didn't realize so many people thought it was only a marginal improvement

I wasn't sure if I liked this movie the 1st time through but for weeks after I was thinking how I wanted to watch it again. I finally did watch it again a few weeks back and now I think I appreciate it a little more. It is one of my more favorites movies in my collection now.

It looks and sounds decent on Blu-ray all things considered.

the sound did not seem as crisp. the main thing i noticed is the lack of sharpness in resolution. the other disc i have is super crisp and detailed. i think something is wrong with the disc. i don't have this problem with any other BDs.
