Probably one of these. Each of the cameras would feed into one of these bad boys and record to 1 inch tape.

Hopefully not. Looking for some sort of HD source such as film.

Speaking of film, a Movie version is due in the movie theaters at Christmas.

I was talking about the original recordings or, more specifically, how they were done. Nowadays of course they'll be using an HD rig of course.

This came up for preorder right after I'd ordered the original DVD on eBay. Hopefully it is a worthwhile upgrade. Needless to say, but if the original elements weren't film, I don't see why they'd need to release anything but a DVD. Too bad Blu-Ray.com probably won't have a review until after the release so anyone with a preorder will be warned if they should cancel it or not.

Looking forward to the movie, but I'm expecting it to be a very different take on the story, since they can do things like show the giantess and Jack climbing the beanstalk. I've already heard what changes they plan to make, so we'll see how it turns out.

I'm pretty hopeful just based on the singing alone. I've heard snippets of the cast singing (in various situations) and they sound good; though the only one that gives me pause is Johnny Depp.

the movie, hopefully, will allow the world to be bigger. The stage play is amazing but it is also limited to the stage elements. You don't really see the giants or the bean stalk. Fortunately Johnny's scenes will be over soon enough.

I can see what people mean about Johnny Depp. It's a problem when the wolf in the taping looks much more convincing than a multimillion dollar movie...

Says the title is being reissued next week. It's listed as a completely separate thing, though.

Hopefully this is the corrected version. But doesn't clearly say so.

I sent an email to Image before Christmas and still haven't heard anything about getting my mono Blu-ray replaced. Any updates from anyone else?

I'm taking the chance. I just ordered the new Jan 13 version from Amazon. When it arrives I'll report back whether it's corrected or not.
