Plus "A Cut Above The Rest" should be available in the boxset, as it was included on the original blu-ray release of Halloween. Even though this website's review of the disc describes it as a "throwaway" feature, it runs a full 90 minutes.

Wow! I thought I hit the jackpot with my $84.86 "price match", but you are definitely the leader in the clubhouse now!
I would love to see the Amazon bean-counter that gets to tally up all the Halloween set orders.
I'm sure it happens quite often in this day/age of retailer pricematching, but I've never seen anything this expensive get this much advertisement in the PM department.

They're actually completely different documentaries with different interviews. They cover a lot of the same ground, but 'Inside Story' is most definitely not a re-edit of 'A Cut Above the Rest.'

"Complete" or not, the point is that this is the most definitive set we are ever going to get. Whether you are paying $85 for this or $120, you are paying no more than $12 per movie, and considering what that $12 per movie gets you, it's an incredible value. Don't like eco cases? Buy new ones. Want theatricals for RZ's movies? Pick up those discs separately. Don't even like the RZ movies? Sell them! There's so much more positive about this set than there is negative. I'd question why people even bother complaining, but I'll chalk a good chunk on that up to anticipation. I'm just hoping that next Tuesday this thread takes a turn towards film discussion and set appreciation.

Maybe you can answer my question of how you got by with not paying sales tax because they are charging me

Amazon (and most online merchants) charges sale tax when you live in the same state as their shipping facility.

If you don't, then they don't charge you sales tax, although you're supposed to keep track of it and pay it on your taxes annually.

Jesus I really wish it was next Tuesday already or some serious reviews came out. Anything else to talk about. I can't believe how many pages of this thread became amazon.ca price match. They should make a feature-length documentary with testimonials from everyone on the site.

Uh, do you live in one of these states?

Items sold by Amazon.com and shipped to certain states are subject to tax.

So I know the whole Eco case debate is on and I'm just gonna throw in my two cents here. I don't like them! I hate how they make the cases cheap feeling, I hate how it ruins the art work as well. Although they will be in the sturdy box and will probably be more protected. However I realize that it's Anchor Bay handling the distribution and not Scream (which means maybe they hopefully encoded the discs also). Scream has stated in the past they hate Eco cases as well. So I'm sure they aren't happy about it either but I'm sure they didn't have a choice with AB. Also it's just a guess but I think maybe they had to work quick on this set. I'm thinking Scream was given 6,7,and 8 for a very limited time (as they are now with Lionsgate) and had to bust a** to get special features done. All in all I can deal with Eco cases (and maybe replace them later)because this set is amazing and no other company would have done something like this. Let's be honest Anchor Bay is just distributing Scream did all the actual work. Sorry that was so long winded. In short we can deal with this rest assured Scream is probably upset as we are they are being used.

Also another thing with Eco cases I've always thought about maybe laminating the artwork and them putting it in the case.

Looks like a few people already beat me to the punch, but yeah, it all depends on what state you have your items shipped to.
My mailing address is MD, and thankfully Amazon is not charging tax in MD at the moment.

At which point they will use said product maybe once, and then put it on a shelf to collect dust, or (more often than not) never actually get around to using the product to it's entirety even one time before moving onto something else.

They'll regurgitate factoids that they've read online, passing off the unconfirmed information as gospel they themselves originated (this being another way to really convince other people of this upcoming product's extreme personal connection to them).

Meanwhile it becomes evident that their actual interest in the product was their want to own said product, as opposed to actually utilizing said product for it's designed purposes. The wait has given them something to do, it's filled their lives with purpose to await the ability to own this upcoming release.

Of course this doesn't relate to everyone i know who has a collector hobby, nor everyone on this thread, but it becomes evident reading some of these posts who is complaining the loudest, and in turn, who will likely use the product the least amount before moving on to simultaneously eviscerating and coveting the next upcoming release. All to try and fill that same hole.

How do you guys plan to approach the set? Are you going to hold off a week and wait for October, or get into it right away?

I've been excited for this, so no way it sits on my shelf untouched for a week. But I also don't want to burn through the set before even halfway through October.

I plan to go through each film in order, and stretch it out from September 23 - October 31st, so I can enjoy it all month long instead of binging. I'll watch the film, tackle that film's bonus features, then repeat with the next film. Starting with Halloween '78 and going in order through RZHalloween II is a good way to ensure I don't miss any extras.
