One thing a little frustrating is that some of the missions take forever (especially solo) and twice now, I've completed a mission only to get disconnected from their server. So, I ended up having to replay the area where you can't respawn. I wish it could be played offline but anyway, thankfully it has only happened twice so far. Oh, they do warn me that my NAT is strict and that could cause problems but I don't think it is and since other games work fine with it, I'm not going to spend any time changing that (trying to make it open).

I'm the last guy to prefer co-op in games but tbh this game is a lot harder solo. Almost all missions have a final stand moment, where you're either defending an area from continuous assault or are dealing with and endurance round of enemy waves. A partner during this time makes this a lot easier--going down in solo mode makes you replay the entire segment, whereas a partner can revive you as well as take a lot of heat off of you.

I'm level 24 and its luck of the draw with good drops. Trying to get enough crucible points for the purchase of armor with better light

It is worth the effort to open up ports that this game requires. If they are saying your NAT is strict, then it is. The game is requiring certain ports be open for all network features to work correctly.

Think I'm only light level 24 or 25. All day yesterday resulted in me finding exactly zero items that would boost me to the next level.

Still haven't finished the story yet though. Might have to try that tonight. Only 1 or 2 missions left on mars I think. It's there any more after that?

Can't believe how long it takes to level up legendary weapons either. Been using my legendary fusion rifle fire a couple days and only half way there if that. It's a beast of a gun though. One hit kills in crucible

I just made the maximum vanguard marks on Sunday, was glad to get that trophy and the crucible marks one out of the way.

It's going to take a long time to earn enough to buy the better gear. Knowing my luck I'll find better gear doing strikes and raids than what I'll be able to buy by the time I've saved up enough marks

I came across a top loot drop vid for engrams you guys can also do. Basically go to the skywatch area where the dead ghosts are recovered for an earth mission. Down by the left side where the hive ship is there's a cave that hive come out of. Camp directly opposite a little way aways with a scout rifle or something equally as powerful and accurate.

Now the thibg is before this can work, you need to do a little prep. If the hive already soawned and are out, look to the 3 o'clock position where hive and fallen fight and the 1 o'clock where the buillding is. Take ALL the hive out because they spawned from the same cave. This includes acolytes and thrall.

Once you've taken out the last hive, immediately aim at the cave entrance with your scout rifle. The moment you see a bar and name, shoot. You can kill them all over and over because they spawn in less than 10 seconds. This can result in anything from greens to rare engrams dropping. I got five in probably less than 30 mins and lots of greens.

The loot drops are level sensitive, so be aware.

Not got a legendary as of yet but a fair bit of rare drops and uncommons to dismantle into parts and glimmer. Definitely a great farming spot to raise cryptarch rank and when you do get a legendary, you'll probably have a high enough level to get something worthwhile.

The PS3 and PS4 say it is a NAT Type 2 which is supposed to be moderate (but according to Bungie, NAT Type 2 can still cause problems). What I was thinking is that they might just have one warning message (calling it strict) for anything other than open. In any case, I have read their FAQ and the port forwarding sites to see what I need to do so maybe I'll give that a shot. I'm also using Wi-Fi and they don't recommend that either though and that one is harder to change.

Yeah, it is definitely hard solo. Frequently, I end up having to retreat to an area they won't follow and then inch my way forward because I can't take on the overwhelming numbers by myself very easily. I've also been trying to level up my character so that I'm a few levels above the story level and that seems to help some. But yeah, doing it co-op is probably the way to go and I'll probably have to do that to be able to complete the story.

They give some general info about what you need to do and point you to sites that explain everything in more detail. One site will even change your configuration for you, if they have an entry for your router, that is.

Get your router and information (and destiny port information if is not already available in the link below), and head here:

Be aware that DMZ is a brute force method (as opposed to only opening ports the software you are running needs) which can fully expose your router to the internet. Which as you can imagine is risky.

If you are ok with that then you can go that route.

Also, just because your PS4 says you are open, moderate, or strict, does not mean that the software you are running will say the same, as the software you are running may require that different ports be opened.

I would not DMZ a pc as DMZ opens all the ports the the ip address that you specify. Should be ok to open up the gaming console. My Ps3/Ps4 are always set on DMZ.

Either way even if you open 1 port on a pc, if someone really wanted to get into it they would find ways to get it.
