This is what I am afraid of, I have a 52" and the thing is quite heavy, (at least about 100 pounds or so~

I am just not feeling comfortable hanging it over the dry wall that I have in the living room, even with nailing it to the stud behind, I'm still not comfortable~

Pictures of your setup would be great ~

I have had my plasma hanging for over 5 years now into the drywall and studs.

I used something similar to the toggle bolts for metal framing. I am 200 pounds and I was hanging from it with zero issues

There's your problem right there: you're using nails. You need to use bloody great lug bolts for TVs, not puny little nails! I use four 5" lug bolts to hold my 32" TV and swivel stand onto the wall, each screwed into a stud. That sucker is NOT gonna fall off of the wall!

sorry, I should clarify. I mean bolts if I were to hang it. Nailing was just a term I used. Sorry for the confusion.

Did you guys have professionals installing it? or DIY (if professional, how much?)

i hope for most people that toggle bolts aren't a new device, but i'm sure they are. anyways, i'm glad to hear you got it done correctly, and congrats on a successful install.

Understood.

I installed mine myself. All you need are a few tools (stud finder, power drill, wratchet, spirit level) and some common sense. A second pair of hands doesn't hurt, either!

Just to clarify, I believe you mean "lag bolts" or "lag screws".
