I always skip posts written in caps. Anyone not considering basic writing etiquete usually has nothing to say that I want to here. They are the same people I completely avoid in the real world... loud and obnoxious. ![]() Anyway, I was just in Best Buy and it was nice to see they had a couple 7.1 recievers. On topic almost every 5.1 came with DVD player and speakers. ![]() |

Maybe it's for the convienience of the consumer. The bundled DVD player is hooked up to the receiver for decoding audio, like DD and DTS, and is also directly connected to the reciever for video. Then it's easier to hook up. I guess that's the logic, which does make sense.

What is it with people buying HTIB? Same stupid question.
They come with DVD players because it costs them almost nothing to include, and they can make a big profit off of it. They can because people want something just good enough to have the effect. Some people, no matter how long they save and skimp and sratch up money, can never afford anything better, and certaintly can not afford a BD player or quality speakers. What they can afford is a high value:cost DVD player that gives them more than they could EVER buy otherwise. Normally to buy the same thing as quality individual parts would break the budget. But again, What kind of person would be looking at a HTIB w/DVD to use with a Blu-ray player? They obviously dont care about sound, so why would they even upgrade from DVD? They should be using DVD ![]() They will do it when BD players when BD players can be built for $10-$30 and coupled with the same old crappy 5.1 speakers. No stupid questions... |
