I would download the user manual for each and visit your local shop for comparison purposes to see which one appeals to you. Then order that one from Multi Region Magic. |

I'm tempted to get a Sony Blu-Ray player modified from Multiregion Magic. Can anyone recommend them? From having a quick browse, they appear to be a good company. It works out cheaper to buy the player I want and send it to them to modify, instead of getting it direct from them. But will this be covered by any kind of warranty or are you screwed if the player breaks 2 months later?

the region free capability is made possible via a chip (ICOS modification) which is installed on the players main board, this governs the regions so even if you update the firmware or the player is connected to the internet it wont do anything to remove the region free capability. they also provide region free firmware updates for all the players on their website should you need to update. i just purchased a Sony BDP-S5500 to add to my other 2 BD players and apart from the basic aesthetics** Overall i am impressed...still cant believe how small these are lol **last year sony were building a lot of models made from mostly metal, this year it would seem its entirely plastic like a lot of samsung players.
