A part of me wants to believe that Neil is still alive.

...taking down scores in New Zealand.

...but I know that's not true.

Commodus sticking the knife in Maximus before their fight was literally gut wrenching.

At least Chris got away. I read last year that Val Kilmer wanted to make a sequel where Vincent is retired in Chicago and Lauren goes to visit him with her new fiance, Chris Shiherlis.

I think my vote for most gut-wrenching scene has to be the ending of "The Mist" though.

Yeah, Heat is a killer like that. I always find the scene with Kilmer and Judd when she twists her wedding ring to indicate he needs to run also heart breaking too.

The scene where the OP was almost killed by Chong-Li in Bloodsport is intense.

I would actually say this scene was a little more gut-wrenching than the beach landing.

By the way, is there any doubt in anyone's mind that Upham went on to become a Senator or a Congressman after the war? Hell he was probably elected President.

Damn you Upham.

...damn you to hell!!!!

Yeah, that whole movie is a killer. This scene where he is unable to take action while the German overpowers and stabs his mate would top my list from SPR. Just brutal.

edit: beaten to it!

They say every atom in our bodies was was part of a star.

Side note...did anyone else feel that Jude Law's death was unnecessarily horrific?

I mean I know he was worried about leaving behind traces of his DNA, but F*CK...what an awful way to go.

He could have at least had a gun to shoot himself with as soon as the flames kicked in.

My vote is:

Batman making the ultimate sacrifice by flying the bomb past the bay.

Then I found out he was still alive.

I'm going to go with a literal interpretation of "gut-wrenching." Of course, this is also one of the most gut-wrenching scenes in figurative terms as well.
