United Kingdom Cheeky HMV Deal

This might be common knowledge but I hadn't tested it until today as there's never anything I want in the offer.

Where HMV has their deals at the counter for "buy this for £X.XX with any purchase" you can literally pick up the cheapest thing in there and save.

Today my local had Ill Manors for £2.99 with any purchase, so I picked up a £1.50 Breaking Bad sticker and saved £3 on the blu ray. Not only that but they had the lenticular sleeve version in the offer which they normally have priced up at £15.99 (which I have previously moaned about).

They also have Sin City for £4.99 in the offer at the moment as well as some others.

Default Cheeky HMV Deal

So the Ill manors BD was £5.99? That would mean you only saved £1.50 as you had to pay £1.50 for the sticker to get the deal.

You still save some money. £1.50 is better then nothing.

To be a killjoy, you can get Ill Manors for £2.79 inc postage via amazon from zoverstocks. Not the slip version, but still.

When they had The Thing BD in the offer a few years back I bought 2 sticks of gum and 2 copies of The Thing!

Sucker You only had to buy one stick of gum. I've bought several of these counter promotions, one time I picked up three with a single 4.99 CD.

Well in my defence one stick was for my Dad and the other was for me!

Obviously I'm not the only one who's had a bad experience with Zoverstocks!

Does the Z stand for Zavvi? It would make sense.

I've had a couple of ice rinks from Zoverstocks.

Their quality control is abysmal.

Zoverstocks is musicMagpie's marketplace store. I can't say I've ever had a major problem with them but I understand why others dislike them. Their delivery isn't terribly quick and they list every item as being in Very Good condition by default, which you can't really take as a true indication. I've never received any "ice rinks" from them, but I've definitely been sold some discs that were in much better condition than others.

Estocks is another place where scratched discs are normal.
