Default South Park Censored

im a big fan of south park and their censored mouths...not so much of their uncensored mouths. I used to buy South Park in ITunes, but now they only sell it uncensored. Does anyone know if the blu ray's have the option of censored vs. uncensored episodes? I think the censored cussing is funnier.

I never thought I would read this sentence.

It's like saying pixelated boobs are better than actual boobs. It's like I understand all the words, but when you put them together like that, you've lost me.

Yeah, that's a fair comparison.

Honestly, I agree with mountaindewbass. The bleeps are loud and really call attention to themselves in some pretty funny moments. The uncensored curse words? meh. They just sort of blend in with the rest of the dialogue. Those moments just aren't as funny to me as they could be. Of course, uncensored South Park isn't as bad as the uncensored Boondocks DVDs (too much male nudity... ). "Uncensored" isn't always automatically better...

I really wish that they had released the seasons with both censored and uncensored audio tracks included. It doesn't seem like it would have been a lot of extra effort or space. It's a pity to be limited to just one track (either one) when the tech capacity is certainly there. With something like Blu-ray, I always want to see all of the available versions on the release (looking at you, Wedding Singer, Troy, Stripes, etc.).

This is completely true. The censoring is far funnier than what they're actually saying, especially in earlier episodes where it was often used as part of the joke. I know of no way around it, particularly on the more recent episodes which are less censored at air than the older ones.

I've been hearing people say what mountaindewbass said for years, honestly, for the exact reasons drak b and Sporkies said.

I prefer the censored versions as well. Way funnier when I can tell what they're saying but don't actually hear it.

No it's not the same. Censored curse words are funnier. I wish Reno 911 had the option.

Love the movie, primarily for the songs. South Park has a great way with music and lyrics.

Its a case by case basis, but for me, Family Guy is funnier when its censored. To me, bleeping swear words is much more effective because you know they're not supposed to say it.

That's hilarious. Everyone chose to be deliberately dense and ignore the point being made by Scarface32. The movie is uncensored and it takes nothing away from the humor for most viewers.

Then again, the movie is meant to be different from the show, so it's easier to accept that it's uncensored.

The show does seem to play up the censorship at times, so it is part of the joke sometimes.

I accept it either way. I like hearing the actual words, but I do understand the nostalgia for the censored version, like it was for years.

Ah, I see. Heh. The real question is, do you like the show better than the movie because the show is censored?

Indeedy, that's been part of the joke with Kenny for **** knows how long. But, as said above, when they actually are effing and blinding for the sake of it, it kinda just blends in to the background. Heck, it also undermines the movie because one of the key USPs of that show WAS the swearing! In that context it doesn't become white noise that I tune out because it was deliberately used for artistic effect.

I'll be honest, I stopped watching South Park a long time ago (nothing against SP, just TV in general) but recently I saw the episode when Butters becomes a pimp. I did a double-take when I heard the cursing first of all, I didn't expect it, yet by the end of that episode they're all swearing so much that the shock value was completely gone inside a half hour. That's what I mean about the movie, it uses the swearing like a laser scalpel whereas it seems to be more of a blunt instrument in the show itself.
