There is a noticeably positive difference with the PS2 games.

Default batman begins

i popped in batman begins and noticed a difference...previously it seemed a little dark but now its better and more vibrant colors and not as grainy as before in my opinion..and until the blu-ray version this is the next best option

Man on Fire looked pretty damn good upscaled, dark areas looked a little crushed in some scenes but I was impressed overall!

First disc I tried was Spider-man Superbit and it looked AWESOME! I was very impressed with the upscaling and prefer it to my LG upscaling dvd player...by a lot. Seriously test the superbits...amazing.

With GOW2 did you still select progressive and widescreen in the game options or did you leave it as normal and have the system do it?

I didn't turn on the progressive....this makes it 480p.....I just let it ride and turned on the widescreen....and it was set to 720p....it looked better, actually..and GOW2 was the best looking PS2 game I have ever seen...

now it's on another level..

I setup a media server and was streaming some of my home movies through the PS3 and I was surprised at how much better they looked. I had watched them on my PC previously and the quality wasn't that great. Watching them on a 1080P projector through the PS3 was a definite improvment. I could previously see interlacing artifacts very clearly and those were gone.

I like the 24p thing, but as for the upscaler... I don't really see a difference. Still looks good enough though.
