I was only interested in III as i already own the first one. But with it being so cheap i thought i might as well get the anthology.

Man, WB has the absolute worst menus. Very primitive, early-DVD style.

The 2010 and the 2013 40th anniversary discs are the same.

And I'm sure they had some other generic menu layouts that wouldn't have cost them a dime, but would have been much much nicer

Can anyone confirm if 2,3 contain the original studio opening logos or new updated replaced ones?

Actually the first logo for III should be the 20th Century Fox one seeing as they released it (and also funded a fair amount of the reshoots as memory serves) Warner Bros. had nothing to do with it.

Morgan Creek made the film 20th only did theatrical distribution I just can't remember if it ever contained a 20th logo I am for sure it had the Morgan Creek logo. If someone has a VHS they could verify but just the M.C. seems correct to me.

Morgan Creek produced Part III though and bought the rights to the Francise from then onwards. 20th Century Fox had distribution of Morgan Creeks output at the time until they sold there stake to Warner. Thats why Warner has control of all the films now and Nightbreed and Young Guns.

Already own the original Blu of part one so am annoyed they didn't include the 40th anniversary Blu of it. Or are the added extras not worth it?

Haven't gotten my shipping notice yet, so that means it will get shipped tomorrow via UPS and it should be waiting by the front door when I get home from work Tuesday.

The majority of BR.com members are diehard film buffs, naturally we should expect more than a fair share of passionate posts about seemingly unimportant things like menu designs and packaging. I don't consider them "complaints" and I, for one, enjoy reading posts by people who share the same passion for movies that I do. I love movies, first and foremost, but I'm not going to shy away from commenting whenever I feel negatively about a particular release. I feel this Exorcist set, for instance, is a poorly designed set aesthetically. The menus are generic and boring, the artwork on the discs (or lack thereof) are also generic and the lack of inside art or a booklet is unfortunate. It's just very bland and lacks creativity. That's all. The films themselves are fun

Just finished watching Exorcist II. Wow what a mess, i could'nt wait for it to end. What the hell were WB thinking. They should have done some rewrites and re shoots instead of releasing the film how it is.

On a side note. Both trailers and the alt opening are in HD.
