Is this something new that best buy is doing (or has it been done already) where they are releasing the diamon editions with a different slip cover? If so I hope 101 Dalmatians gets the same treatment with Crulla Devill on the cover.

Pre-ordered that one too! i just wish they would add more to the actual content instead of just a special slipcover.

Awesome, thanks for the heads up on the price plummet. I'm definitely going that route too. If the transfer's identical I'm definitely going with the version with the tons of extras over the new minimalist edition, especially if I can get the old one for half as much.

Did you read the review? BD Live wasn't even activated when the reviewer played the discs!

Any chance we could get the OP to post all the info earned here onto the OP trying to follow what's going on and I think I got it, but to make sure I got it I have to read through the last 4-5 pages... Or maybe there is an official SB release page?
So far it sounds like both PE and DE are same , couple extras on DE but it's fluff.
Price went down with BB preorder.
What else?
Thanks in advance.

The movie is the same on both the PE & DE, but the PE had far more bonus features (including Grand Canyon, the Oscar-winning short that preceded SB in theaters).

Edit: There's only one reason I might buy this one -- the digital copies. (My PE, bought used, doesn't have the DVD; but the DCs are more important to me than the DVD.)

DC is a must for me and my house. So I figure I'm buying that regardless. Now through DMA and the lately update to apple T v extra are readily available. So what may be a tough question is what extras are going to be available to DMA? Don't get me wrong I love my physical media bbut ifI'm watching it with the wife and children then we're streaming it all the time.

I just make them myself. That way I have complete portability of the file (no DRM or need for a high-speed internet connection) and total control over every aspect (file size, device compatibility, etc.).

Lyle, is there a specific program you use to do that? I've been considering going that route myself but i'm not sure what the best program is for doing it.

damn it i hate the fact that disney dropped the second BD with the bonus features, im torn because the platinum edition doesnt have spanish audio but the new one does. i guess ill have to settle for the new release. Disney should offer atleast for those who want the special features an option like when oz didnt include 3D

Sorry if it's already been posted, but Best Buy's website has updated to the $19.99 price (it was $24.99 the last time I checked). I just pre-ordered the BB exclusive for pick-up on 10/7.

Wait a minute I pre ordered it when it was $24.99 is there any way I can get the difference back?
