Can't wait to see how it turns out but I am confident it will be very good.
Only thing I'm a little worried about is the video is dark. 3D is hard to distinguish in dark scenes

Good point but just using the vignette from "This Is It" as a reference point then hopefully all will be grand, yes it was shot as a 3D excerpt but it was dark and it has great 3D....though I don't expect it to be equal to that.

Yeah, you're right, but the best part is spilling beer and eating popcorn watching this one. Should be great. With many horror (or intended) videos, most of them are dark and probably best to watch in the dark of the night with no ambient light at all, but coming from the groove tube.

I would much prefer to see Captain Eo (1986), the interactive short lasting 17 minutes. It was written by George Lucas and directed by Francis Ford Coppola. Since it was shot in 70mm 3-D it doesn't need to be converted, and it looks spectacular. Easy on the eyes, like stepping through a window. The demand is so great for this one that fans aimed their cameras at the screen. Flat bootlegs proliferate. But never a peep from the studio about a 3-D release.

Its still playing at Disney World so, I doubt they would released it on Blu-ray. If they did, they would need to have Bob Furmanek and Greg Kintz correct the 3D alignment as it has a lot of ghosting/crosstalk.

Agreed. That would have been nice if it was packaged in 3D with this one.

That is amazing they still have that one there playing.

When was this supposed to be released on blu ray 3D?

This is just Jon Landis trying to cash in on his settlement with Jackon's estate. They probably threw in the rights to release a Blu-ray with a cut of the profits as a term of the deal to make him drop the case, and 3D is just an excuse to get the disc out the door.

Personally I don't care about 3D very much, but if the disc includes a regular version in 1080p, then sign me up! If MJ fans get one more video restored in HD, then the lawsuit was for the public good.

Micahel Jackson's Thriller -- more than 13 and half minutes long. The quality doesn't look that great (based on this video clip) so I can' be sure how well it will convert to 3D unless it's in pristine condition. I hope it turns out well.

And I also agree that MJ's Captain Euueww -- oops! I mean Captain EO -- makes it to 3D BD. I recall seeing it in 3D at Magic Kingdom in Orlando years ago.

Yeah, they should include both on one 3D disc since they're short 3D films. I'm guessing Eo is locked into a theme park contract.

No news as yet. I would of thought they would release it around Halloween if it's happening.
