I thought that the software to protect copying on BLU RAY movies has not yet been started by the studios,anyway? All I can tell you is I see a definite improvement on standard DVD's when run on my Magnavox BLU RAY.

Yes, that's what I'm saying. Standard definition dvd's have a copy protection flag that prevents your Blu-Ray player from upconverting via component.

Blu-Ray media will be upconverted via component, for now. At some point in the future they will put a stop to this.
