Same here Peanut Monkey it's my most anticipated BD of the year and i heard about lost footage over the years as my dream came true as i will finally see the missing footage even in the deleted scenes.

Who thinks Peloquin is badass? "**** the law, i want meat".

The theatrical cut is the reason I went for the limited edition. It's the version I've always known and I know I like it. The other features are nice, but including the theatrical cut sold me on getting the limited edition. I do look forward to seeing the director's cut, though.

Based on this review, it sounds like Doug Bradley's voice is not restored in the new cut, that kind of sucks.

Not sure I can justify $71 plus tax for 2 movies, I may just go wit the DC seeing as I've never seen either version before.

Default CC issues apparently were widespread

An important FYI for those who's orders were cancelled in the past couple days.

A Shout Factory rep called me this afternoon to let me know that if I wanted to re-instate my order for the first 1,000 LE/w Poster edition (I was in the low 800's), I just need to re-order the set off the website, send an e-mail to info@shoutfactory.com with the message header "Nightbreed Urgent" and include my original order number as well as my new order number and they would place my order in the original numbering when I placed the order the first few hours the set was available online. This has to be done before 5pm (presumably pacific time) Friday afternoon Oct 3rd to keep the original order numbering.

Obviously you need to have a valid CC or Paypal balance to cover the order. My CC was replaced a few weeks ago thanks to the Home Depot hack and I never thought about my original order being on the old card so as far as I'm concerned, it's completely understandable the order was cancelled.

My suggestion to anyone who still wants their original order that was placed with SF in the first 1,000 sets to do what I mention above asap whether you get a phone call/e-mail or not. Make sure you include in the e-mail both original and "new" order numbers and label them as such so SF can quickly re-instate your order.

Although I am going to go ahead and stick with my far cheaper Amazon order (I really don't need the poster, etc), I have to commend SF for trying to take care of their customers in such a personal fashion.
In the meantime since ordering, my CC number had been compromised and replaced, didn't remember this was the card I'd used to preorder from Shout!Factory until I got the email that said they couldn't process my order. I sent a brief reply stating that my card number had been changed because of fraud and just left it at that. The next day a very nice lady customer service rep called me and said my order could be reinstated (<1000 numbered set with poster) if I reordered from their site with my current card and sent them an email with the URGENT NIGHTBREED listed on the subject line. In the interim I'd ordered a backup copy from Rakuten/Buy.com and was inclined to just let the original order expire, but since they went to the trouble to contact me, I reordered with one caveat: I'd originally ordered two copies, but with the increase from 5000 to 10000, it negated the value of having an unopened backup copy as a collectible, so I reordered only one copy. While I appreciate their follow up, from start to finish this process has been amateur night for Shout!Factory and a serious breach of protocol for limited edition releases. I am hoping the technical aspects and supplements will make it worthwhile, but wouldn't be inclined to trust them again on a future limited edition release. I considered commenting to the lady who called about the customer relations debacle they precipitated, but decided I didn't really feel like wasting my breath to someone who likely had no authority and whose bosses appear to be unconcerned.

Mine should be within the first 1000 and I never got an email or phone call. I shouldn't have to worry, and I'm sure as hell not re-ordering.

Because of a really positive review???? Or do you just mean that makes it sound like there's no reason to watch the theatrical version again.

Am I missing something? How can there be 40 minutes of new material in the Director's Cut that runs only 18 minutes?

Lol I was wondering the same thing. I thought it was a great review and makes me even more excited for the LE.

They cut out some of the filler from the theatrical cut?

Some of the material in the theatrical cut (apparently 22 minutes) is apparently replaced with alternate footage.

Oh man is that a good point, what the hell? I knew something was fishy about this set and that just confirms it. I am so pissed right now.

The great reviews keep coming in, feeling good on this blind buy. Glad I got in on the $55 Amazon price.

This isn't new info -- they've talked about footage being taken out and replaced for a while now. "Director's cut" never means every bit of footage is included.

This isn't an assembly cut like they did for Alien 3, Nightbreed is a director's cut meaning that Barker decided to leave out stuff he was obviously forced to put in with the theatrical, and restore and expand scenes that got cut.

sounds like we're getting two very different films in this set and if the DC isn't as good as expected then this is the only way to have the TC, which is a great movie.....I guess the reason most here have wanted either/both on blu, being a fan of the TC
