Default Bowers and Wilkins M-1 wall mounting

i've been looking for some small satellite speakers for a while and i think i'm going to be getting the B&W M-1 speakers and i was wondering how the speaker wire connects into them. I'm going to wall mount them and the speakers i already have are wall mounted and i have speaker wire wall plates that the wire connects into. I was just wondering based on pictures i've seen i dont' see any place to connect the wire, am i going to have to get rid of the wall plates? If i do that then i'm going to have patch a 4x1 inch cut out that i had to cut into the wall to put the plate in and i really don't wan to have to do that. thanks

Chances are the wall plates will have to go. I'd need to see them before I can say anything for sure though. On the B&W M-1 speakers, the mounting bracket has two connection points on either side of the speaker brace joint point. the signal is then routed into the brace bar, which then feeds to the speaker itself. Kind of difficult to describe. And I would take pictures for you, but those black covers that go on to cover the metallic wall mount bracket are a ***** to get off once installed.

Ok here are a couple of pics of what i have now, It's omnimount speaker mounts and a wallplate for the speaker wire because the mount didnt have a way to have the wire come through it. I didnt want to have a hole in the wall so i put in the plates - If at all possible i would like not to get rid of them since like i said in my last post i had to cut a 4x1 inch hole in the wall to install theml. Is there any way i can mount the M-1 speakers below the plate and somehow still be able to route the wire through the bracket?

I have M-1's in the bedroom, I don't use banana plugs, and they aren't wall mounted..... so I don't have the wall mounts for them, but I think they're similar to what you have now.... sorry for not being more of a help!

I can't even think of a way to McGyver the M-1 in order to work with those plates. Sorry. PM me your e-mail and I'll send a nice clear picture of what it looks like. I tried to resize one to fit into this forums filesize submission limitations and it is really too small to make out any detail.

EDIT: DUUUUURRRRRR!!!! I'm silly and stupid all at the same time!!! Yes, you can still use the plates! You will, however, have to get a very short length of speaker wire for each one. What you can do is connect one end of a 3/4' or 1/2' length of speaker wire to the plate and feed that onto the wall bracket connector plate from above. The plastic covering for the bracket has a small semi-circular gap on both the top and bottom for just this purpose.

So, yes, I am an idiot for not thinking about this more clearly. I was trying to think of the speaker having a direct connection to your plates. That's why I thought it wasn't possible at first. Trust me... now that I used a few braincells to approach this problem, I can 100% guarantee that you CAN use the plates!!!

ENJOY THE SPEAKERS! I KNOW THAT I HAVE!!!

P.S. I can still send you those pics if you want. Like I said, just PM me your e-mail address.
