I was doing some farming to upgrade my weapons yesterday when I suddenly noticed I had enough Vanguard mark for a legendary weapon. I needed a good scout rifle since they nerfed the AR. So I got the A.1F19X-RYL. I especially like the Firefly upgrade: "Precision kills with this weapon cause the target to explode." Great weapon but seriously, a damn boring name.

500 doesn't take nearly as long as you think. Although I don't really like the exotic machine gun, the rate of fire is way too high. I've only been using it because it was my only exotic weapon at the time and I was trying to fully upgrade it for the achievement.

Rinse and repeat The Dark Beyond mission when you get to the "we've woken the hive" part. Just dont kill the knight and let him kill you to respawn at that segment. Should take 20min.

Is it 500 kills or 500 points? My Thorn bounty was 500 points and I did that while doing the weekly heroic. Now I need to step into Crucible and get 500 points using void damage.

Finished the raid normal a 3rd time, a teammate got VOC. I got real lucky and got 3 ascendant energy. Wasted 3 hrs for nothing. I really have bad luck with this, most are fully armored while I only have one piece and got no weapons yet. This game will be history with the big titles next month.

500 points worth of kills. 1 point for body kills, 3 points for headshots.

I just may scrub the Light in the Dark bounty. I might be able to do the 500 pts of void damage in crucible but after that I have to kill Xyor the Unwed in a level 26 mission of the summoning pits. I didn't get chance to play the raid yesterday everyone on my list was already in a group of 6 matchmaking is needed for raids no matter how shit other players might be. What's the reason to keep playing if I can't play the only part of the game I have left to complete?

Well, I think I can at least understand Biz spazzing on that one raid that made the rounds here.

I just took a group of 4 rooks into the Vault, and after 7 hours, we couldn't beat it. Ran through everything in 1 hour, which gave me hope, but the Atheon part, we just couldn't beat it.

The "taking a random 3 into time" bit is a disaster now. Because all 6 people have to know their role. Relic Holder. Oracle Duty. Goblin Duty & Oracle Support. Harpy Killers + Emergency Portal guy.

So you have to teach everyone what to do, and still people do dumb stuff like continue to fall off the edge of the map or fight at ground level where Supplicants can kamikaze you. After 6 hours of the same shit over and over. People shouting "Clean me, clean me" when they're holding the goddamn relic. HOW MANY TIMES MUST YOU FORGET THERE IS A GAP BETWEEN THE PORTAL AREA AND THE CENTER SPACE YOU MUST JUMP THROUGH?! ATHEONS WEAKSPOT IS IN HIS GUT, STOP HEAD SHOOTING HIM.

ARGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

By the end of the run you don't ever want to play Destiny or with those people ever again. The main game prepares you very poorly for the raid.

Anyway, this is just an angry post. At least I got 6 shards and Found Verdict out of it.

So I tried the Weekly Strike on 28 by myself. That didn't go too well at all. So I went for the level 26 by myself, and barely beat it. I was able to kill every single enemy, including every Knight and Wizard. After I was able to clear all the adds, I focused on Phogoth himself. It was really hard but I was able to do it. Level 29 Warlock Sunsinger subclass with Fireborn. Felt pretty good, but it sucks that this week's strike is so much harder than last week's.

EDIT: I initially tried the nightfall by myself (not the Weekly level 28). It was a *****. So that's when I did the Weekly on level 26. I'm not sure I'll be able to complete the Nightfall this week, unless I go with 2 strong players.

I'm gonna try to get those 500pts of void damage this week in crucible and hit up the strike again and see if I can kill off this Xyor the Unwed. Don't need to kill of Phogoth.

Haven't tried Nightfall yet. I got the weapons that are in the modifier too.

If you have a Defender Titan with the Saint-14 helmet, drop your bubble in the doorway when the four wizards start coming after you. They all fly through it and go blind and you can mow them down with Solar/Burn damage with very little risk.

Beat the Daily and Weekly last night with jsteinhauer & My_Two_Cents. We had trouble though with Nightfall. Those that beat it, any tips?

We have the proper weapons to bring down their shields, but there's just one too many Ascendant Knights and Wizards. Instead of running into the open area with Phogoth in it. We stayed inside the small room waiting for the Knights and Wizards to come in that same room while one guy (jsteinhauer) would watch for the spawning Shrieker. Not sure if this is the best plan of attack but who knows what kind of madness would be lurking, waiting for us with Phogoth in that open area. We're planning to try the Nightfall this evening.

Also sorry Rblu-Dblu for booting you out (I'll get with you about this during work today ), as I told you that you can join my play anytime you see me available, but we were doing the old method where a member leaves their Fireteam and rejoins after they have been killed. When Ric left our team you joined so Ric couldn't get back to the Fireteam. Figured that was the best action to take so that all members don't die and we would be kicked back to orbit.

Yes. It might be a little after 7, depending on how my day goes, though it's never as busy as it used to be anymore, for obvious reasons.


I think the raid gets tweaked a little week by week. It was harder last night with the same fireteam and one noob who caught on quick and not make it an experience like JJ describes. Took about 2.5 hours instead of 1.5 hours. More dying than has become customary.

7 times through VOG. Still only 1 chestpiece from the first time. Last night, I only got a warlock armband. No armor. No weapons. It really grates on me that some guys never beat the whole VOG and have more pieces than I do.
