Agreed, it turns you into a grenade machine (double grenades, high discipline which leads to faster grenade cool down), and more ammo to boot.

LOL! Yeah, that's crazy early, or I would have begged in earlier. Kind of inhumane, really, because a proper raid on the Vault of Glass requires a lovely cocktail, or at least an IPA. And that's much too early for me. I'm usually just having a fine coffee about then.

And that brings up the other problem of getting an invite to a raid party in the evening, then not even being given enough time to go make a lovely cocktail before losing the spot. Uncouth, I tell you.

I enjoy doing it. Combine it with a few bounties, use the run to test out new or rarely used weapons...the allure to see which chests might have blues, purples, or blueprints...whoooo!

So far we have all experienced people and we all know the "alternative tactics" to most of the encounters if things go bad. I really can't see it taking that long. I think the Gatekeeper will be the longest phase.

What level are you? I only started getting them at 27 and now at 29 they drop at least one every two days, if not per day.

I finally had 1 purple drop (auto rifle) last night since they tweaked the drop rates. Not that I've been playing much. I try to do the weekly and nightly events and that's about it. I'm about burned out on bounties and rarely do those anymore unless they're quick ones. I can't even stomach the 6 mission ones anymore.

No, unfortunately. I got an exotic chest piece recently and now that it is being leveled up some it is helping but I think I still have quite a ways to go to reach level 29 (28 bar is probably only 25-30% full). I think I only have one fully leveled piece of gear. The rest are basically just waiting on shards.

Edit: Actually, checking bungie.net, it looks like my 28 bar is only like 10% or less full. I thought it was higher than that but maybe I switched out a piece of my gear or something. I'll have to check once I get home.

Edit 2: ...and I have two pieces of gear fully leveled but one was the chest piece that I've swapped out with an exotic. Their site is really helpful. I like being able to check everything there.

Bought a Suro since I didn't get last time and I guess I should get one for PVP since its good for that. Also got my hunter a shiny new yellow chest piece and bought the engram because why not. That gave my Titan a set of yellow shiny No Backup plans exotic hands which don't really seem all that interesting

Now I have 0 coins

I got a Purple arms in a drop for a weekly today. It gave 2 shards!! Score!!! lol

Maybe I can get lucky and get the needed coins from Daily and Vanguard strikes.
