I have no pain in having them as part of my hi-def collection, many were bought at $6 - $8 except for imports such as Band of Brothers, Equilibrium, Perfume: Story of a Murderer. Quite a few of them already contain lossless audio as I'm a bit more picky about that or have equal audio to their BD counterparts. Any movie in HD DVD that I really like which contains lossy audio will eventually get replaced with BDs that contain lossless. Some titles such as Training Day and Superman Returns still contain lossy on BD vs lossless on HD DVD versions. In the end, I have no preference as long the PQ and AQ is excellent and I want to watch them now and not wait especially when I bought them at such a bargain price. I'm looking forward to when Band of Brothers gets released on BD, hopefully the currently advertised DTS track is incorrect and they'll release the DTS HD MA track which is an upgrade over the current HD DVD's DTS HD Hi-Res.

iv'e got 100 hd dvds most of them i snapped up through local fire sales when they were going for $5-$10 each brand new. i agree with HD 335 thats its nice to have them in high def to tide you over until they come out on blu ray.

I voted for the number of titles I have but it is more about how many one has watched versus how many owned. With a Blockbuster video store location 5 minutes from me with 250 BDs (different titles) and a Netflix hub in the next town over from me....
![]() Food for thought. The more one buys, there is the greater potential for dust collectors as more are released that one wants to watch! Last edited by robertc88; 07-02-2008 at 01:08 PM. |

Just hit 95 this week with Vantage Point and In the Line of Fire. Should break the mark 100 in the next 2 weeks. 7 of my 11 planned purchases for July are double dips (Batman Begins, both Mummy movies, There Will be Blood, Hunt for the Red October, Clear and Presant Danger & Patriot Games)

Same here! Right now I have 50, with a couple on pre-order. I know it's tempting to buy movies just to have them (like I did with my standard DVD collection), but I'm trying not to do that with blus.
