Does the site block IP addresses? - Blu-ray Forum

I was in the middle of updating my entire collection to use the "Price Paid" field (I had been using the comment field), which is a very quick process one by one but one which would show a ton of activity / traffic from my one computer (open 15 films at a time in separate tabs because in the new view "select all" doesn't work). In the middle of doing this the site went down for me and I can only get it to load if I use 4G on my phone. Any assistance would be nice.

Well, no one answered my question but the answer appears to have been yes as 24 hours after it happened initially I seem to be up and running again. Still, I would like to know why this happened so when I'm updating my collection like that it doesn't happen again.

The forum DOES block IP addresses, because I'm sometimes on a VPN that gives me dynamic IPs, and a couple of times I've had a message saying the IP is blocked from the forum or something to that effect. A temporary block was probably needed at some point, but permanently blocking a dynamic IP just seem idiotic if you ask me, as whoever was the problem is long gone and the IP is constantly assigned to new people.

Anyway, if your IP is blocked, the forum will load but with a message stating so.

I don't remember them. As I said, I'm assigned dynamic IPs, I don't make a note of them every time they change (which is every time I log on to the VPN).

The external IP your router/cablemodem etc is assigned by your ISP. There's a bunch of websites that'll show it to you, here's one: http://www.ip-adress.com/

Well, unless you're using the forum from somewhere else, it doesn't seem like the forum is blocked for you and thus there's no issues with your IP. But if it is, then perhaps a moderator can take the PM and forward it to him.

Sure, but iceman was saying if I give him my IP I can prevent any blocking from happening in the future.

Well, that IP is obviously ok

Please PM pro-bassoonist if you encounter an IP that's banned that you think is legit
