I'd have to agree, the Gatekeeper section is possibly the most difficult part of the hard raid. The Hobgoblins can one shot you.

I'd love to build another raid party but I'm trying to keep my late night weekday raids to a minimum. If I think/feel it'll take longer than 11PM to finish, I'd rather not even start one. A normal raid with experienced raiders is an hour, tops. With a couple, 2-4 newbies it'll be 2-3 hours.

Sidebar, I have discovered that you can jump from the beginning of the disappearing pad section to the next area without having to bother with the disappearing pads. Well maybe I didn't discover it, but now I know it's possible. Still trying to find the purported elusive chest that's around there though.

Minimum squad for hard raid is 3 level 30's, 3 level 29's. I would not go anything less than that, as it just becomes a drawn out frustrating experience. Match each 30 with a 29, and you should be ok. Even a full squad of 29's is not enough, and any 28's on the team are completely dead weight.

Re: Jon's post - I haven't run into that kind of horrid randoms experience yet, and I'd sure hate to. I'd probably leave on the spot. All the randoms I've encountered have been regular fellas, no weirdos or idiots like that.

Better get Tuesday's hard mode cheese in before the patch.

I need to do atheon on normal still, anyone up for doing the last half tonight? I have a save at the gate keeper so it shouldn't take too long if I can get a couple regulars in the group.....probably around 7 CST or so.

If I can get on that early I will gladly assist. I have an A/C repair guy coming to the house after 5. Not sure how long it's going to take but after I pay him I am propably going to be depressed and need to kill some bad guys to make me feel better.

You already did it on Hard so you wont get anything.

Interesting. I have an exotic helm maxed out. It's funny when I take that off to level other gear I drop from 28 to about 25 I believe.

got my first exotic bounty, i picked the one for the bad juju pulse rifle.

hit vanguard rank 3 and got the comedian auto shotgun

also hit new monarchy rank 2. I guess i'll just leave that on till rank 3 now.

beat the nightfall with randoms on the first try. and got some new gloves, that let my exotic handcannon reload faster, it dropped me back down to 27, but is worth it. got enough strange coins for an exotic weapon but not before xur left.

pretty good weekend.

Jr and I know what were doing. I'm presently leveling up some Raid gear which has knocked me back down to lvl 28 but I can put my old lvl 29 gear back on for the time being.

Cool. Same story for me, trying to level up the raid helmet so I'm back to 28. I would like to do it with my 25 warlock if at all possible, but I don;t want to drag everyone down....I will see what the group looks like and use my titan if need be.

what time does Xur leave? I checked at about 8pm west coast time and he was gone. didnt get a chance to play this weekend

Is the chest you refer to the one that I have rumored to exist only on hard mode at that Vex portal you can see just before you enter Atheon's room? I'm not sure how you get it to happen, but you can trigger disappearing stones that you can use to get over to that portal. I've never used the alt route from the top, but I've been over to that portal, and nothing is there. The rumor I have heard is that the entire party needs to be at that portal in a hard raid. Good luck with that, as no one can die between checkpoints. There are probably other elusive or mythical chests, too.

I believe it's only a 48 hour period from Friday, 2AM PST to Sunday, 2AM PST.

He logs in around 2a PST on Friday and leaves at 2a PST on Sunday.

so the next iron banner gear that you can buy will be level 30

i think i will play that exclusively the whole time it's available. not sure if it's starting this week again or not.
