I downloaded the update and everything worked fine, the voice commands were pretty cool to use but the main thing I want to do is use the youtube app.

Where did I say controllers? I believe I said remotes, which is not controller. It's even spelled differently. And no, they didn't promise that but when they added support for old headsets you would think support for a blu remote wouldn't be far behind. It wouldn't be an issue if they actually had a new remote in the first place.

And for the love of God, with people now paying for online why can we still not change or PSN ID?

I don't know the friendslist loads quicker, and the shareplay thing is a pretty big game changer.

This is actually a feature that when it was first announced I couldn't wait for it to be implemented. So many possibilities. Have they said if player A hands off to player B and during gameplay a trophy is popped who gets it?

Id love it if they added DS3 support. Id use those controllers, especially when it came to PS Now

I believe the trophy goes to whoever is hosting the game. It would be like if you were at my house playing on my profile and you got a trophy.

I tried Share Play this morning with Driveclub. A friend of mine wanted to try it out. It worked great and he has a shitty DSL connection. A couple of things you need to know about Share Play though (if you didn't already)...

1.) Gaming sessions are limited to 1 hour intervals. You'll see a countdown meter when you start. After an hour, you have to start a new session.

2.) 720p resolution is the max you can view a game in Share Play. 1080p is not supported.

3.) If you're sharing a game that supports local co-op such as Diablo 3, you and your friend can play together.

The new USB Music Player is a godsend! Playing Driveclub to my own custom soundtrack makes the game that much better!

Woke up the PS4 this morning, and the update was already downloaded and ready to install. Was really quick too (I was always surprised at how slow the install were on PS3).

Haven't had the time to check the changes, had to get to work

For those wondering where the Youtube App is, or the themes, they'll be part of the PSN store update sometime later today (in the US). The app/ themes are already available in Europe (and Asia) as their updates already occured.

My guess is that the Web admin office staff are on standard office hours in PST time (west coast), so they might start the day around 9am (in about 30mn).

Ah crap, I just traded this in yesterday and my brother had kept bugging me about playing co-op together but he didn't want to purchase the game and our schedules never really worked where we can get together and play. Now with share it would have been possible.

I know, I thought I wouldn't like the Music Player as much because of the required USB, but I'm actually liking it better than the PS3's music player. Way too many games would block you from playing music from the hard drive. Plus double-tapping the PS button is quicker than cycling through the system options was on the PS3.

I actually re-installed Need for Speed Rivals now that I can listen to my own music. No more techno for me. I'm liking Destiny better with my own music as well, as that game has some very nice music but uses it so sparingly that things can sound a little muted at times. When I give it an injection of the metals, though, it seems a bit faster-paced and more fun.

I'm really glad that Shareplay sounds like it's working well. I'm going to make my friends play Alien and Evil Within whether they like it or not!

Does the game simply pause when the session is over? I'm curious for NHL 15 if a friend and me are playing the game if it's going to just kick him out or if we can finish the game. How does it work to transition into a new gaming session. Would you have to juggle the session (ie: There's only 10 mins left, stop the gaming session, start a new one, etc)

Great to hear about finally having custom soundtracks with the USB music player. Do we know if there is a size limit for USB sticks?

For those who have tried the music playback while in a game, how does it work?
Do you have to manually turn the music of the game all the way down, or does it supress all audio from the game including sound effects?

If option 1 (as I hope), I wonder if some games out there have no volume option specific to the music (or maybe none at all) and then how it would work...

Option 1: The games I've played have had full audio playing. It wasn't like Halo 3, which muted all its sound effects. I think the sound is just being overlapped over the game sound.

If there isn't a music volume option on the game, I suppose you'd just have two clashing types of music playing.

In Driveclub I just muted the in-game music and then went into the music player app at the UI face screen and started playing my own music. I spent a couple of minutes balancing my music volume level with the in-game sound FX volume level. Once I found the right balance I was good to go.

Honestly, cinematic adventure type games like The Last of Us or Tomb Raider, I wouldn't want my own music anyway. Racing games are the main type of games I care having my own sound track. Maybe fighting games or Sports games.

Ok thanks. Sounds like the best compromise

Also, it looks like all the framework for Remote Play on phones (Android) has been laid out (we know it's coming to the Xperia Z3, Z3 tablet and Z3 compact).
Some people have already rooted their phones and did some magic hubbub to make it work on their Android devices...

Here on a HTC M8

It's supposedly going to be official for other Android devices sometime in November (along with the Xperia Z2 support).

The PS4 remote play app (phone side) has already hit the Google App store today for the Z3 support.

Agreed, although now I'm thinking it's going to be nice to have when I'm just doing bounties on Destiny

I'm with you. I don't tend to play music over story-driven games, (aside from most shooters, which tend to have awful stories, save for Bioshock and Half-life and their ilk) but for racing games, sports games, fighting games, and adrenaline-based games like COD or Unreal or Quake overlaying music helps to make them more exciting.

Had a problem waking up the PS4 from rest mode. Remote would not turn it on, neither did the button or ejecting the disc inside. I hd to hold the power button down for about 30 seconds.

I don't think I got the voice command to work either. I went through the instructions and when it instructed to say "PlayStation" nothing happened.

Future things i'd like to see

Suspend/Resume downloads in rest mode from phone app, also reorder downloads

FOLDERS!!

Sort everything into your own order on home screen

More colours, customise background sounds

Friends list folders or groups. Here are my "Destiny" friends in one group, or here are the people from Gaf in this group. Also a note on each friend with the exact time / date you sent / received the friend request, in which game and if there as any message at the time. I often forget who is who from each forum on my friends list.

Friends online notification

Set your profile to busy, away, appear offline

Tab to see whose streaming from the people you follow on live from PS

3D blu-ray support

Short first sentence preview when I receive a message. It's a total waste of time leaving my game to visit the message app if the message just reads "want to play BF4?". You can just display that in the notification icon. Same when trophies pop too.

^ Similarly when you receive a party or game invite pressing the PS button doesn't take you away and into that app it just expands the notification icon with options like "Join party", "join game", also with a few pre-decided message replies like on iPhone and android for quick replying like "Okay", "In a little while", "Maybe later" etc.
