Probably the cost associated with offering multiple versions. I don't expect combs with DVDs to disappear until DVDs stop outselling Blu-rays, which may be never at this rate. We have vehicle DVD systems and it saves us cost for movies we want to take with us, both kid and adult movies. Plus I have a relative who doesn't have Blu-ray player and give him the DVD. And with DVDs vastly outselling Blu-rays, I expect a portion of the sales of these combo packs are for those anticipating upgrading in the future.

Yikes, normally the Blu-ray Tech/Advanced Tech forum is running at a slower pace compared to something like the ‘Movies’ forum. Whaz-up?, did everyone take a vacation /sick day off from work all at the same time or is everyone on their 6th shot of DynaPep?
I’m getting dizzy here this morning trying to keep up. ![]() |

Bought my first computer at Lechmere's in Florida in the mid-late 80s, 8088 clone with 40mb HD, partitioned. It was like $1500 with a crappy 4 color monitor and 24 pin Panasonic dot matrix printer. That's over $3000 adjusted for inflation.

What sucks is that everyone is going to be saying the same thing about blu-ray in about 3 to 5 years. 'Why do we keep getting these blu-ray discs with the 4k blu' 'I'm buying a 4k blu-ray, I don't need the blu-ray with it. I don't watch it and it makes the price stay inflated'. Its just natural progression.

![]() This was state of the art at the time, with a 3.0 MHz processor, 16 KB of RAM (expandable via a 32 KB cartridge) and absolutely no harddrive (that's what the cassette tape drive was for). ![]() |

So did this thread go from wondering why we have to have DVD's in our blu-ray to now loving that we're getting DVDs with our blu-ray? What the fffffffffuu%& is happening here?
I'm here to support the O.P.. That means we make fun of DVD, no matter if they stuff it in the amaray case for "free" or not. Naaaahhh you're right. Let's keep DVD alive. F%&k blu-ray |
