A to Z looked creepy based on the ad campaign. It essentially looked like a show where people stalked each other because fate tells them they will end up together. Also, NBC's non-stop marketing that basically said "this is the future of the network" did nothing to help it.

Meanwhile, I find it hilarious that Marry Me (which NBC had been essentially giving the invisible advertising treatment) might get a full season even though the network gave it no chance to succeed.

CBS announced that the upcoming season of The Mentalist will be the final season. It will be premiering on Sunday, November 30 and taking the time slot of The Good Wife, before moving to Wednesday at 8:00 ET on January 7, with the 2-hour series finale scheduled for February 18.

That is surprising. Were people expecting it to get cancelled? I thought it was getting decent numbers still.

No, it was expected that this was going to be the final season. It was getting fairly average numbers by CBS standards last season and as a show in it's 7th season it's fairly expensive. There was speculation that CBS wasn't going to renew it for this season and that had led Warner Brothers to start shopping the show to other networks.

Oh, ok. I haven't really been following the show since the third season. I just watch an episode every now and then. I'm hoping that now the series is now ending WB will put out the complete series on blu-ray. I know they have already released season 1 through their archive line.

USA has renewed Royal Pains for a seventh and eighth season. Each season will be eight episodes. The new season starts in June.

That really shows how bad NBC is doing. This show got a 1.3 rating Tuesday despite a 2.3 lead-in from The Voice and going against repeats on CBS, ABC, and the CW. There's no way this keeps The Voice as it's lead-in come spring and the ratings will completely plummet then, which is a shame because it's not a bad show.

Downton Abbey has been renewed for a 6th season by ITV. Downton completes it's 5th season Sunday in the UK, with a January 4 premiere in the US.

NBC should have just picked up Happy Endings two years ago. Basically the same show, but a lot funnier and better characters.

After Damon Wayans Jr. (re-)joined the New Girl cast, there was no way Happy Endings was coming back. Being a semi-spinoff of Happy Endings, Marry Me is the closest you will see to a return.

Wayans rejoined New Girl after Happy Endings was canceled. His Happy Endings contract always had first position and if Happy Endings had been renewed he would have had to return to the show and couldn't have gone to New Girl.
