1st I would like to say thank you all in this wonderful forum that help me out. Your help has been much appreciated!!! So I went to my local BestBuy and talked with them about a new Projector to see if they could price match. Which they didn't so I ordered it off the internet.
The Guy at BestBuy said that the screen may be more important than my projector...? He said that I should buy a $2,500 screen and I would get a better picture. Plus I could wait 2 yr and then get a 4K projector when they came down in price. Whats a good deal for a Black Projector Screen? Will I notice a "Big" difference switching from my white pull down screen? Btw, I have a Finished Basement Theatre which lets 0 light in the room. Thanx, |

I have been using the 1070 for a year with the screen from my old set up. I also use a ND2 filter as the 1070 is a light cannon to my eyes. I chose the cinegrey screen to help with black levels for my old projector (Optoma HD20) and the screen works well with my 1070. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I recently found a link for settings for this projector and the picture from those settings is fantastic. I had been using the recommended settings from Projector Central as I was not happy with the results from self calibration using the Spears and Munsil disc. https://www.avforums.com/threads/ben...tings.1761516/ I hope this helps, J p.s. I think the guy at Worstbuy is smoking crack by suggesting a $2500 screen. A sub $500 screen is all that you need. You could probably make a screen for a few hundred dollars or less if you chose to go that route. |

Agreed to both of the above posts. I got an 84" EliteScreen Silver Frame series with cinegrey material for about $135 and it's been more than enough. I couldn't imagine a $2.5k screen giving me any better picture than I'm currently getting (absolutely no way it's going to give me $2.4k worth of an improvement...).
