Perfect summary and picture of the past several weeks.

I'm sure right now that mhafner is examining it for DNR and Josh Zyber ?sp is looking for any edge enhancement on it.

Tell that to Gregory House M.D.

Don’t believe me ?
Then go back and re-read all of the online comments (in Total) made by the perpetrators and see what take home message you come up with after digesting their “body of work”…..unless their comments have been re-edited after the fact.
I couldn't agree with you more, and then some.

Sorry, I wasn't specifically referring to you as ignorant average Joe, I meant it more in general.

The DNR issue certainly has been flogged a lot lately, but I'd like to ask Penton if he can tell me that Warner are actually paying attention to any of the noise being made? Because, to me, it doesn't seem like they listen to a single word about anything from anybody. They are still announcing titles with only Dolby Digital tracks. And if they still wont provide lossless audio on everything, then there is absolutely no chance of seeing any change in their DNR attitude.

Well, if anything, at least the DNR issue getting beaten like a dead horse has (presumably) been noticed by all studios. At least they've heard 'something' about it.

Being in the position Max is is very difficult. You have a lot of different masters with many differing opinions and agendas, always answerable to all and afraid of offending one (as we've seen happen on occasion"

Max has done a great job keeping us as informed as he can under enormous pressure, how about a round of applause?

No doubt. I am wondering what news could potentially be so bad.

RAH
What is the Academy's position on this?

It can get a little silly: Star Wars (1977) won for Best Visual Effects.

As I'm sure you already know there are several "RED ANTS" who post screen caps only to make BD's look bad, hell one of these guys went out of his way to thank the retired/fired insider for helping him. Much as it pains me, this is actually hurting the format, kind of like AVS went way out of their way to kill D-Theater/D-VHS any way they could. Who knows why?

Some day the whole truth may come out, hope this does not come off as too x-files?

Have a great 4th, I'm going to watch some MOVIES!

Re: Metropolis. It's a 16mm dupe because the original nitrate print, which would be 80 years old, is long gone. Also see this post by Bill Hunt which should make us all happy: https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...580#post996580

Some clips of the movie are being screened tonight in Buenos Aires

Last edited by Deciazulado; 07-04-2008 at 09:47 PM. Reason: screening info correction

DNR.
(I’m not joking).

Is it sad that my first thought when I saw a picture of the recovered footage on the digital bits was how people were going to react to the inevitable DNR?

Thanks for the recommendation on Broken Trail. I am only slightly into it, but am very impressed thus far. So much so I had to stop and tell you about it. Thanks again.
