Perhaps it's just me then. I watched about 5 mins yesterday and felt it was slighty grainy compared to some of my other Blus.

You should read the article on grain on Digitalbits.com.

It may be intended to look grainy.

My biggest complaint towards FOX BD's is their programming - while the main feature plays back ok, I cannot access any menu from any additional material on their discs, meaning that I can either stop the playback with STOP button on my remote, or just fast forward it till the addit. feature ends; neither Top Menu nor Pop Up Menu are accessible.

Thats because they took a similar approach like Warner's blu-rays because in the movies made from Warner it has that same navigation of the chapters and bookmarks on where you left off instead of doing that press Circle or stop on the remote controll i believe even Superbad had that same feature in it. With Warner's blu-rays however when you press either top menu or pop-up menu (i forget which one it was) and it brings you to the main menu where all of the extras are and where you can go to play movie but otherwise you just have to do the bookmark on where you ended so you can go back to that same spot instead of having to restart the whole movie and then just keep pressing the chapter skip over and over until you find where you left off

Pressing STOP just stops Fox BD altogether - I mean, even the Panasonic resume function that works perfectly with other BDs (well, at least, with Warner BDs) won't work here. It's not the same approach as Warner's. With Warner BDs, while watching special features I can access the main menu at any time (and thus stop the additional feature I don't like to watch.) Not with FOX BD's (and only with FOX BD's - all other studios make all this navigation either perfect, like Disney and Paramount BDs, or just ok, like Sony BDs.) So, definitely FOX BDs are not my favourite ones.
BTW, what is 'Circle' button? I don't have one...

You should start educating yourself about film instead of assuming that film must look like digital photography in order to be good.

Read!!

Diehard 4 is one of my best blu!

The only complaint I have about Fox is that there is no french subtitle ('cause I have an agreement with my girl friend that we are watching the movie in English is there is subtlitles in french... and it pissed me off when there is English and french audio, and only english / spanish subtiltles...

hes just saying before you go on and talk about grain issues with movies, just brush up on the readings about movie grain, theres been countless number of threads about grain that just repeat themselves over and over again....for example, theres about 20 threads about 300 film grain, and as much as you tell people that its suppose to be there, that the director intended it to be there, they still dont get it. What you see on a Blu-ray disc is no different then what you see in theaters. If there was grain at the theaters, theres gonna be at home......

I've decided not to buy any UK Fox releases till they get rid of the stupid disclaimer that it is playable on Playstation 3 printed on to the artwork. Trivial i know, but most other studios use a sticker. So at least you have the option of taking it off.

Lucky for me i have a usa ps3 as well

I was most certainly not offended. I responded to your post suggesting that it is probably a good idea to read about an issue you might believe exists with a release/film. Especially when there is already an excellent review on this site which might have answered whatever doubts you had regarding the technical merits of the transfer to begin with.

This being said lately I have been seeing plenty of comments addressing the grain structure of certain films culminating in "not good enough". To all of these comments I've responded with the same suggestion: read. It is my opinion that if people read about issues they believe BR releases are plagued with people will educate themselves enough to understand that grain is nothing more than film information. Hence, it is an inseparable part of many films.

I am unsure why you concluded that I was angered by your post.
