Saturday with some randoms at the oracle checkpoint on got the gauntlets I've been waiting for for six weeks. Got up early Sunday and hit level 30 before the wife got up. Now, I have to tell you, it's easier to sell yourself as a 30. Got a lot of replies. The second group I got in with today beat Atheon, the first time I actually beat him, and I got the helmet, the mythoclast and another speeder. Just need some boots for my titan, now.

Playing hard raid at level 30 is a night and day difference compared to level 29. At 29, it was a full time struggle trying to not die. At 30, it changes to trying to work in an efficient manner. It's a lot more fun, for sure.

JJ, it would be my pleasure to accompany you on an escort mission with some first timers, should the occasion arise. I'm pretty patient. I'd like to be able to be the escort myself, but I don't think I'm good at giving directions. If you're up to it, and some of the others, we probably have enough 30's now to get the 7-8 pm group through a hard raid, most likely over the span of two sessions. Some guys need their beauty sleep. It's too late for me.

The grand come up! All the patience from being forever at 29 changed in an instant. I'm just missing the Mythoclast and Epilogue to complete my weapon needs, even though they'll probably never be my primary use weapons.

When I beat Hard Mode, we had an All-Star roster of six 30s, but I believe four 30s and two 29s can do it. We now have another four 30s here - Dodger, Keith, you and I - and I'm sure there's a couple more top 29s for another Hard attempt later this week.

And re: Sherpa duty...I'm building another group now from a couple people here in the forums. I'll let you know! Having another guy along who knows the ropes is very helpful. I believe my next rookie raid consists of

- Kevin (Saw your post, I'll PM you re: date/time)
- Morkna (got your PSN friend request)
- Chocolatejas (Got your PM, I'll reply with date/time)
- Empty Rookie Slot
- Empty Rookie/Vet Slot

So if we have any other rookies hiding out there, let me know!

I have an Atheon normal save I would like to finish up tonight if at all possible. Hopefully I am getting out of work early today so I can get on when everyone else is.

SIDEBAR - for the kamikaze jumpers who always die taking the platform jumps during the Raid after the Gorgon's Maze - there are more than 3 disappearing platforms. There's about 8-9 that form in a spiral staircase pattern going down that take you all the way down to the ledge without having to time your jumps perfectly.

I say this especially for those less-than-agile Titans among us,

Finished a hard raid from the Gatekeeper checkpoint with 1 30 and 5 29's. On Atheon, one of our 29's died right away, but we were able to go 3 teleportation rounds almost perfectly to kill him. I ended up getting a raid helmet, which is very nice, but still no freaking boots.

I hit a new milestone this weekend as well, I finally have 1 of each class leveled up enough to run all the weekly's and raids! It's time consuming when they are all different, you can't just share armor anymore, everyone needs their own which means you pretty much have to level up the vanguard to level 2 for the new guys. Here is where I am.....

Titan = 29, have raid helmet and legs with exotic chest, just need the arms!
Warlock = 28, no raid gear yet, only legendarys and exotic chest.
Hunter = 28, no raid gear yet, only legendarys and exotic chest.

Now I will be running all the weekly's and daily's 3 times as well as the VOG 3 times! I still need to run my warlock through the VOG for this week, anyone up for it tonight? Please?

For the Titans, Defender mode makes the jump difficult. Put your Titan in Striker mode and the jump is easy, even without using your super.

Rookie runs I prefer to save for weekends, since with first timers it'll usually take anywhere from 3-4 hours.

That explains why I saw you on practically ALL weekend. My wife works 12-14 hours shifts on weekends, so that's when I get a large portion of my play-time in.

im still stuck on level 28. got nothing but energy last week. did finally buy a shadow price since my hand cannon was getting a bit old.

I hope so, that's if Jon can change Clans for the night by the time we begin. I've been wanting that trophy as well.

Ummm, no, you need to run it at 28 so we (I) can maximize coins/drops! I'm sure Jon will be more than happy to run it before the raid with me, as he's obviously more of a team player than some people around here...
